Proud of myself. Increased the weights and did Body Pump 1 hr followed by 30 min on the treadmill at a 3.0 incline. Watched Oprah Show with Biggest Loser Update on contestants - gave me some motivation.
Happy Dance. And I just might keep tracking tonight. Yahooooo.

Well I haven't got to try anyone's great suggestions yet, but I just
invented my own version and it was only 2 points!
I took shredded lettuce (I Bought the bagged salad the shredded kind like
they use on chop salads or in tacos and stuff), ff sour cream, black bean
and corn salsa, and those colored tortilla strips. So good!

Two points regarding ground beef and ground turkey/chicken.
1. If you use 93/7 lean ground beef, it's the same points as ground turkey (might be a little dry though in burgers-If it's too dry, you can add a little shredded carrots to counter that) It's great for chili's and casseroles though.
2. When buying ground turkey/chicken, make sure you get the ground white meat. If you don't, I believe it's higher points.

WOW!! You are doing great!!!!! I feel the same. I am 5'7. I am in my normal range on BMI and age. BUT I can't feel normal because of the excess stuff! When I met my husband I was 18 & I weighed 132. That is really where I want to be. I know w/age(I'm 32) and children (4) that it may be hard to be there. But I am NOT going to give up..
Thanks for the encouragement!

Oh Tina, I feel your pain! I have had 6 children and the stomach thing is a big issue with me too! I believe that it keeps me from feeling like I have really lost all the weight that I have! The exercises that I have been doing for my abs have been working but I wonder if I could be doing more! Anyway, I am 5'4 and my personal goal weight was 135 (I set my goal weight with my leader at 137 so this was my personal goal). I am down to 121.8 (gained back 1.8 the past couple of weeks). I started at 169.4 and know that you can get down to that weight! Hope that we can all be an encouragement to you!

Way to go Judy!!!!
Well, I got on the treadmill for eight minutes today. I plan to add a minute
a day until I get to 30 minutes and then for up in speed and then use the
incline and increase to 60 minutes. It's going to take awhile but that my
goal anyway.

When I started going to the gym I could only do 15 min the first day on the treadmill and 15 mon the upright bike.
I am proud to say I now 60 min plus on the treadmill. I dont break any speed records yet but I am plugging away at it.
Keep it up!

Hi all,
I had joined WW on 2/14. Since then I have lost 51 pounds. I am thrilled to finally be under the 300 pound mark and feeling better.
As the weeks went along I started to pick and nibble. This past week I have just been bad.
I got weighed in Tuesday night and was up .6 pounds. Today all I did was eat eat eat. We had a luncheon at school for our teachers. I ate before during and after the lunch. I brought leftover deserts home and ate them.
I don't know why but I know I feel bad. Physically and emotionally I feel bad.
It seems like the past week I have been sabotaging myself.
Does anyone else ever feel like that? How do you get out of this funk? I have along way to go and can't defeat myself now.
Thanks!

We all can relate...but honey, take a look at what you did with a rational
mind.
When you mess up in other areas of your life, do you keep going? If you hit
your thumb with a hammer, do you say "Well I screwed that up!" and start
hammering your other fingers?
If you hit your head on the cupboard door, do you say "Well that was bad! I
think I'll hit it some more!"
If you ding your car door against a pilon, do you grab your keys and start
keying the paint job?
Of course not! Because none of those reactions make any sense! Yet why do we
say, "I screwed up, so I'm going to really do it right..." and dive into a
plate of brownies?
So if you could do the day over, what would you do?

Life happens and we cant be perfect. We are human after all. But I know for me, when I slip or give in to a craving I let it happen for two days at the most. I dont want to go back to having constant heartburn or just feeling icky from eating poorly. Its not worth it to me to go back to that so I just tell myself to smarten up and get back on track. You can do this too!

Jennifer I agree with what you said. Chris, tomorrow is a new day. Do not
let one day, week, month, year.... derail you. Start new. Forgive yourself
and begin again.
And yes I do feel that way sometimes. When I do I think about what
motivates me to lose weight. I read success stories. I listen to good
advice and apply it to my life. And I look inside and see what made me stray
from the plan. Sometimes I have no idea, other times it is obvious. Learn
and go forward. You can do this.

No problem, not a dumb question.
The walk takes place on the Trinity Trails (starting at Farrington Field on University & Lancaster Street in Fort Worth. It's a 3 mile walk (run if you want to). There is no fee to walk, but if you want to join my team, you can register online. Also if you WANT to donate to the AHA, you can also do that online on my page. Go to http://heartwalk.kintera.org/faf/login/partMenu.asp?ievent=294776&lis=1&kntae294776=A21E54DAD15A47D495D21AC0106E7DF2
and register for my team. My personal goal is to raise $200 and $500 as a team. BUT, like I said, if you just want to come out for the HEALTH of it, I'd be glad to have you on my team, and to meet you!
BTW, if that link doesn't get you to the right place, just go www.tarrantcountyheartwalk.org and register under April Tomlinson's team.
Hope to see alot of you there! :)

It sounds like you don't want it badly enough to make behavioral changes
needed to lose and get in shape. Being "in shape" means that you exercise
most days of the week, with intensity. You make healthy food choices most of
the time, every day of the week. You journal, and eat with intention.
There's nothing about "motivation" in there, is there? Motivation never
lasts. Intention, habit, and drive lasts. Motivation and drive are two
entirely different things. For example, I run marathons. I am not always
"motivated" to get out and run, but because it is important to me that I be
well trained when I hit the start line of the marathon, drive gets me out
there every time.
I am not motivated to eat right every day. I've been doing this since
February of 2002. I don't EVER wake up and say "I am SO motivated to eat
right today and journal my food! Woo hoo!" Rather I am driven to eat right
because my health is important me, being and STAYING at my goal weight is
very important to me, living long and feeling great is a requirement in my
life.
Require more of yourself than "I need to feel like it to do what I know I
should do..."
I've been coaching women towards better health for about a year now, and
every single one of them who rely on "feeling like it" have faltered and
stopped. I won't say failed because I do believe that they will "get it" at
some point. Those who just keep saying "I'm worth it. I'm going to keep
working until I get there" are doing great.
Love is a feeling...health is an acquisition.
