I went with my daughter's fifth grade class as a chaperone. I thought they were pretty good about cutting away the cameras before the actual gross shots unlike alot I have seen on the discovery channel but man you were right about the bored part. I actually almost fell asleep. Even the teacher was disappointed. We're seeing the Night at the Museum movie here too. The first was one of our favorites. We are all looking forward to this one.

I took my six year old daughter to see Earth. I was so mad. I know the nature world is vicious & that animals eat each other. But in a G rated movie marketted to kids, I did not expect or want to see gazelles, baby elephants and walruses being torn apart & eaten in slow motion, nor did I want to see a whale leaping in the air with bits of a shark fin dangling out of its mouth, nor did I want to see papa polar bear lay down & die. My very hyper daughter was bored senseless by it & annoyed by me covering her eyes. And then she fell asleep.
My new movie strategy is to get the kiddy size combo. It has a decent portion of popcorn & doesn't require a bank loan. And I smuggle in another diet coke because the small drink isn't big enough. Movie popcorn/candy is another downfall of mine. We're probably going to the movies this weekend to see the museum movie... amy

hey all ~
just finished 90 minutes on elliptical @ a resistance of 5 ~ it has taken me about 6 weeks to build up to that ~
went to the movies yesterday (took 5 yr old to see Earth..she started crying everytime a predator took down a some small creature.. blech)
anyway, popped my own ff popcorn @ home and brought my own parmesan/ red pepper flakes topping ~ bec there is no way i can go to see a movie w/o popcorn!
tonight we are going to pf chang's w/ friends ~ my husband and i are going to look @ their nutritional info online beforehand and figure out what we want to get so we know what we're going to have point wise ~ i haven't gone out much since i've been on WW so this will be an interesting experience!
i am looking to incorporate some weights into my routine ~ anyone have any recommendations on a tape/cd that uses free weights? nothing too hardcore ~
thx!!

Hi Destiny~
Something that has helped me is a dish I made up called Filling Filling.
It's all filling foods cooked together, then packed in individual portions
and kept in the fridge or freezer.
Basically, I take several veggies like bell peppers, onions, spinach,
shredded carrot, celery, etc. and saute them in a TBL of olive oil. Add a
pound
of lean ground beef or turkey breast and cook it all together until done.
A half cup or full cup is only a few points. Then I serve it wrapped in a
high fiber tortilla, over brown rice or noodles, in a lettuce cup or just
eat it as is.
I make different flavor combos....Mexican has garlic, cumin, chili powder
with a can of black beans added. Italian has garlic, oregano, basil and
sun-dried tomatoes. Asian has fresh ginger, garlic and a splash of soy
sauce
with shredded Chinese cabbage added to the veggies.
I always keep them handy in my freezer. It's cheap, filling and OP.
HTH,
Kellianne (another Michigander)
Hi, I am new to WW and to the group. Was wondering what some ideas are for
breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack and dessert. I'd like to keep my options
somewhat simple, basic until I get the hang of tracking. We're on a tight
budget so that is one consideration in my food options. Thanks a lot~

Believe it or not, when I crave something sweet I have a piece of fruit. 9 times out of 10 it alleviates the craving. And, yes, I'm a chocolate fiend.

I finally got back to working out at the gym instead of just working there, it felt good and I'm going back tonight too!
Has anyone bought the wii active game? I'm thinking about getting it but was wondering if anyone liked it or had any experience with it first.

I have Wii Active and have played it once. I liked it. Lots of good
variations. The one concern I have is people doing the band workouts wrong
and possibly hurting themselves...but then we do workouts all the time
without trainers and I don't think anyone has been seriously injured or died
in a workout band accident. ;)

Hi~
Are you currently a member of WW? Perhaps they would know?
I've got an old plan here. I think it's called 'Full Choice'. I lost
weight very quickly on that program. I loved it and lost 60 pounds in 6 months.
With it, you choose a different 'Level' and you're allowed up to 7
'Floaters' and 350-700 optional weekly calories. Is that what you're looking for?
If so, LMK and I'll try and help you out.
I really like the Momentum program but it's too soon for me to compare it
to the other plan. It's only been 6 weeks. How long have you been on a
Points based program?

Hi!
I have been lurking for quite sometime. I started Weight Watchers in April '08. I lost 30 pounds! Then well I got LAZY! I liked that I was in a smaller size so I stopped counting points. Thought I could do it w/out counting points! WELL I gained 5 pounds back.. With not excercising or anything I felt like i had gained 20. I wasn't toned like I had been. I am mad at myself for not completeing the goal I had set for my self.. I weigh 153 right now.I REALLY want to weigh 135! I started counting points again. I lost 7Ibs this week. Being my first week back that's pretty good I would say!!!
I have the wii fit I have been working out on it everyday. I feel so good. I am hoping for some encouragment to keep me going. My husband and family doesn't think I need to lose any more.. I have had 4 children so I have the baby weight and loose tummy skin from being pregnant. I really want it to be smaller if at all possible. I HATE my tummy hanging over my jeans!!!!!!! I hope w/starting this again. It will shrink. I know I won't be the same as I was before children. I would like to get pretty darn close!!!!!
Okay well, I better go I like to talk, or type.... Thanks for listening.

I didn't go to my meeting this past Saturday as we had too much going on. I
did go today and found that I had lost 5.8 pounds! And what is even MORE
astonishing is that as I was driving home, I had that crampy feeling.... and
it ended up being the start of you-know-what. What?!! Doesn't a person
normally gain weight right before their period? (Well I normally do...) I
think what helped is that I have consistently walked on the treadmill every
morning during the work week. Not marathon sessions, mind you... I'm just
starting out and I want this to become a habit so I've only been walking 10
minutes (which is still 1 point earned).
By the way, I just had one of the best frozen dinners I've ever had...
Healthy Choice Sweet and Sour Chicken for 8 points. Normally I don't care
for how chicken typically tastes in a frozen dinner, but this meal was
excellent. It really took care of my craving for Chinese food.
I really really really wanted to stop at Culver's in Fargo before I drove
the 30 miles home today. Nooooo..... I didn't. Then as I was driving home,
the thought that I could stop at the local drive-in flitted into my head
(they have the best burger and fries in the world). Nooooo.... I didn't.
THEN, once I got home and was walking up the stairs in our garage, the
thought that since I had just weighed in, I could make a frozen pizza popped
into my head. Noooo... I didn't. I made that frozen dinner. This is a
MAJOR accomplishment for me. MAJOR. I felt like I had two quarreling voices
in my head... one soothingly telling me how GOOD that other stuff would
taste... and the other more practical voice said "Just think how GOOD you
will feel after you eat the frozen dinner and... you just had a really good
week and a really good weigh-in. Why waste that?" I'm so glad that the
practical voice won out. :) In about an hour or two, I'll have a Weight
Watchers 1-point yogurt and thoroughly enjoy it.

Kimberly, you should feel so proud. The weigh loss is fantastic and it
sounds like you are really keeping yourself on track. It is so hard to
change habits. Keep it up girl!
