Judy:

I know diabetes not 100% cured by WLS, I did not mean to imply that it was a cure-all. But it is very true that successful weight loss after WLS can go a very long way to help control diabetes. I do try to stay sugar free, but every now and then I sneak a little bit of a treat. I love to bake, so I sometimes sample my work. My built-in monitor of 'dumping' keeps me from over-indulging. Alcohol also impacts me that way, so I watch that intake, too.

I did not take the comment that way. Honest. What I was saying is that
the group up here is telling people it can be a cure. When I talked to my
endo he said no not if you have been a diabetic for a long time and require
an insulin pump.. But it can get a whole lot better. Have you tried the
splenda in your baking. I don't bake a lot but when I do I use 1/2
applesauce and 1/2 splenda. Makes things nice and moist with out all the
sugar.....I know that not everyone likes everything. That is just what works for me.
PRAISE God for the Roses. THANK God for the thorns.
