HI!
My name is Mari, 38, wife and mother of 3 from NYC. I have to confess I
have been lurking in the dark for a lil while now. This new journey in
my life have been somewhat overwhelming and I was a lil hesitant.
Nevertheless I have been learning from all of your posting and adviced.
My journey began last year, with many bumps on the road but I vowed to
continue. In the middle of my process I had to change my pcp who tough
"having surgery is the easy way out'. i ran from his office, his loss
and my gain since I found a very understanding and open pcp. He has been
a great supporter. I just finished my six month supervised diet as
required byt my insurance. Pulmunary function sudy, done, psych eval,
done, letter of necessity, done, excersise routine, on going.
The specialist at the bariatric center is getting my case aready to
present to my insurance company. I am having those butterflies on my
stomach all over again. I am both excited and afraid, even a lilttle
anxious. So I welcome any advice & support. As soon as I know anything
I will let you know, and thank you Victoria for encouring us to
introduce our self! like you say it will only help us if we make
ourselfs known.

Welcome, Mari!!! Congrats on your progress towards beginning a new life. I, too, was a little hesitant in the beginning and just spent lots of time reading everyone's postings and learning everything I could. I am 2 month post-op from lap RNY and could not be more excited about my progress. I have lost 43 pounds since surgery and am feeling great! Kudos for having the initiative to change PCPs. You need support in your endeavor. My PCP has been really supportive, eventhough he has not had a lot of experience with other patients, but we are learning together. Good luck with getting a date soon. Keep us posted on your progress!!!
