Not a voice of dissent, at all, but another perspective.
If you're ready and you don't necessarily NEED a lot of outside input. If
you know "This is my goal and I'm going for it" and you're the type of
person who generally sets a goal and reaches it, online is great. I did
onliny only. I've never been to a meeting. I love over 100 pounds and
enjoyed all the online benefits.
For me at another time, I would have needed the meetings. This time, I
didn't. I think it just depends on where a person is in their journey.
Nothing wrong with one way vs the other. What matters is "Are you
successful?"

Yea, it will change. Last week was the first week I had a gain and it was my 14th week! I gained .8 even though I didn't go over my points. However I did use all my flex points and some of them were on two double margaritas on Saturday night and my weigh in is on Monday morning! I will not be drinking any more of those! I was just devastated over that .8 gain, but this week I went back and I had lost 3.6! I was back on top of the world again. I did walk and I went to the gym three times and I drank my water faithfully! My daughter has helped me get into the habit of getting my water in. So hang in there.

5. Diet and exercise a good start
Posted by: "Judy" SharingJesus@comporium.net judinsc
Date: Wed Jun 17, 2009 10:24 am ((PDT))
Good morning everyone, how is your morning going I got up at 2AM as I always
do with my hubby, he leaves for work at 3:00, but by then I am usually to
wide awake to go back to bed. Sometimes I do go rest some but seldom can I
get back to sleep so I usually just stay up. That is why I go to bed with
the chickens at 7PM.
I went to the Mall and walked but it was really to much for me, I managed to
do as my doctor says 100 steps for each minute, rest in between if I have
too. I did 10 minutes not counting the two rest in between intervals. Then I
walked normal as I did my grocery shopping.
I didn't know that it had started raining while I was in the store, so most
of my groceries are still in the car till it slows down. I just brought in
the refrigerator items.
Now I have 30 minutes of exercise in and will still work out later on my Wii
Fit. I am off to a good start with my diet.
I hope that your morning has been a good one, it's nearly time for lunch and
I am getting hungry but I bought some special diet food so when hunger
really strikes I will be ready to eat healthy.
Have a good afternoon and we will talk later.

Hello Everyone,
I have just started WW for the second time. My first experience with WW was ok but not great. I went to the meetings then ate almost everything I shouldn't have. I lost a bit of weight but only because of the sheer amount of running around I did. (Planning my wedding)
This time around I want to succeed! I am now in my 3rd week and am down 7lbs. Unfortunately I am doing WW alone as I was laid off and can't afford to join the meetings again.
I have started exercising but I am still having problems with being hungry. I am eating every 3 hours in an attempt to keep myself full but it isn't working. Every day at about 3-4 I feel like I need to eat EVERYTHING and it is making me miserable. I know that this is not true hunger but it is driving me crazy!
I would love to hear from anyone who might have advice on how to get past this. This mental hunger is my biggest issue and I would love to get it under control.
Thank you all,
Sondra

Sondra, can I ask if you eat a lot of carbs? I find that a protein snack in
the mid afternoon really helps. That or fruit. I generally will have a WW
string cheese and maybe a lil tubbie of no sugar applesauce about then. Or a
WW 1pt yogurt.
I have a gnawing in my stomach often from acid. That is why I cut an apple
and keep it in a ziplock to eat when I get these pains. I also find that
oatmeal or another source of grains or protein stay with me longer in the
morning. Recently I have been having strawberries and bananas as the berries
are in season and yummy! And 1 and a half cups is only 1 pt! So I cut up
half a banana with them and it really fills you up too as well as is loaded
with potasium.
I eat several times a day. Most days unless I am on run and even then I have
something with me that is OP in case I get hungry. I don't leave it much to
chance..
I know that others have great ideas as well.
Oh, and DRINK THAT WATER!!! ALL OF IT!
Hugs, Deb

Hello Deb,
I do eat crabs. My snacks are normally fruit(most of the time), popcorn, or occasionally light Star bucks or WW ice cream bar. I don't keep any 100 cal packs because they don't fill me up and that leads me to eating all of them.
I eat eggs and toast for breakfast, leftover dinner or WW soup for lunch and WW recipes for dinners. I know I need to eat more fruit and veggies and I am working on it.
I do not like yogurt, oatmeal, or applesauce. :( It is a texture thing. I LOVE chocolate and wont even touch pudding.
I think that I am drinking enough watter. I normally drink 3-4 liters a day.
Thank you for all the advise!

I had my triathlon training. We did 4 miles on the bike, 1 mile run, and repeated that 3 times. I really pushed myself on the bike. I'm pooped this morning! Next week is open water swimming, and then the tri is on the 28th! I'm so excited!

9a. just a whine...

Well, I'm sidelined with a foot injury that if not taken care of will be an issue. Had those cortizone shots - ouch. So, I'm moving from doing classes to doing weights. (I was doing 6-7 classes plus the treadmill each week). Had my first trainer session Tuesday for upper body. Working with the trainer was great. Have my second session for lower body Thursday morning. Don't expect to be able to get any cardio in since I cannot put any pressure on the ball of my left foot. This is going to seriously affect my weight loss and fitness. I'm bummin big time.
And here's the BIGGEST whine. I just did my program for upper body by myself and truly sorry but it does nothing for me. I'm a people person and this sucks. I can't do the group fitness weight classes with the foot injury. I'm really really bumming and we all know that's not a good thing, especially when you computer is in the kitchen.... okay - I'll put my big girl panties on and get over it....

You are so cute Kathryn..would you like some cheese (my favorite dairy product) with you whine? (had to say it)..
I am a people person (and my computer is also in the kitchen--disaster) too....but you may be pleasantly surprised to work on your own for a bit (a chance to work a little more on form and monitor your progress)---any chance you can hang at the back of the room with your modified group activities?? I did that after surgery ( I used to lead the class and just wanted to support my sub instructor), it was a challenge to modify the routine, but doable--just modify and bring any extra props that you need.
At least you're not staying on the sidelines, you're jumping right back on the band wagon and figuring out what you need to do to modify your routine...GOOD FOR you!
Keep us updated on your progress.
Take care,
Debi

Sorry about your foot Kathryn. Can you do a group class in the pool? What about spinning? Just a thought. You might end up finding something you never knew you liked!

Bummer but no. Spinning is definitely out. There's too much pressure on the foot and sorry to say our gym does not have a pool. But thanks for the suggestions. Off to my 2nd training session.....I just might have to book one every week. Boy, will I be broke - but fit.
