Don't beat yourself up, Faye. Learn from it.
If someone gave you a "do over" what would you do differently to have a
better outcome today? Where did you go wrong and what could you have done
differently?
We all make mistakes. The point isn't being perfect, but it's learning from
them. If you can learn from them, it was worth it. If you just say "Oh well"
and then go on to make the same mistake again, then it was a wasted
opportunity. (Not that I'm suggesting you did that at all.)

Wooo hoo Cindie! You freaking ROCK! It sounds like you did a fantastic job
from start to finish! I have done the SAME thing in the swim. I ended up
going in the complete wrong direction. Oh well! You finished with a smile on
your face and shiny stuff! Woo hoo on the medal! Way go to!

Thanks Heidi! I did my first 5k a year ago and I was hooked. I volunteered for a triathlon last August and I knew I wanted to do one this year. I started training in April. Having an event to look forward to is a great way to stay motivated about training. I'm going to do a 10 mile run this August so now I have to work on my mileage. The most I've run at a given time right now is 7 1/2 miles. What I found out during the triathlon is that I really like the biking part, and I'm good at it, so now I need to start looking for some biking events!

Just walk on the other side. Geese are very territorial this time of year
because their babies are growing. They're just being protective. We have
them at school and every year I have to give my boys the "don't go near the
geese" speech. When I'm out running and I see them, I cross the street. They
will attack.
I think they're beautiful, though.

Jennifer
I'm sorry. I realized after I sent that and thought about it that it sounded
"scolding" and that wasn't my intention.
My intention was to help you think through what happened and "rewrite" it so
that next vacation, you don't come back with gained weight. Human doesn't
mean perfect, obviously. But when we dedicate ourselves to something and
call it a lifestyle change, it's important to learn how to apply that change
in all situations in life so that you don't end up getting off track.
You are about to dedicate yourself to life with a man you love. Love
yourself as much and dedicate yourself to lifestyle that sustains the two of
you in a healthy manner. Trust me, before you know it you'll be married 25
years and wonder where the time has gone! Imagine 25 years from now feeling
as young as you are now, being healthy role models to your children, and
being in better health yourselves than you are now. Living together in peace
and ongoing love. Both of those situations take ongoing dedication, not on
again off again dedication. Your commitment to you is as important as your
commitment to your marriage because a happy, healthy, well balanced woman
makes a fantastic wife. You wouldn't go on a vacation from your love for
your husband, don't go on vacation from your healthy lifestyle.

Why would you expect more than 2.4 pounds in a week? That's an incredible
loss!
Wheat and wheat products do not cause weight gain. Eating more calories than
you burn does. Obviously you balanced your calories VERY well. Give yourself
credit! You did a great job!

What are you going to do to celebrate??

I always said I would do some shopping when I got here ...but I honestly don't need to just yet...my summer clothes are mostly still fitting fine. I will definitely need new jeans but I figure I should wait untill fall...hopefully I'll need an even smaller size by then :)
