Vic,
I am not thin enough to work out on my feet. I am 53 yrs now and have had
arthritis in my hips and feet. I am waiting to be thin enough to start push
ups and maybe running, but I dont know. I used to like jumping jacks too but
my chest is not as tight as it used to be. LOL. When and IF I get down to
150-160 I will try out push ups first to judge whether I am light enough to
start more rigorous training.
Biking is all about what I can absolutely handle without hurting myself and
this is what I bring to excess.
My weight hasn't budged for 4 weeks except the recent 3 lb. That's a lot of
time wasted. But during the excessive excersize, my hips reformed by two
inches even though my weight did not budge, going down to 49 inches around and
breaking the (good god) 50" or more inches. So, I got some benefit from it.
I really cant wait to try my old excersizes of long gone days. I used to
teach Kung Fu for 20 years. David Carradine's death was hard on me. Of course
last time that I did that was in 1994 and that's 15 years ago. lol
Peace, lee
lee - have you reviewed your 'excessive' exercise to determine if you might
make some changes that would make your methods have more impact. That is,
do you workout on your feet?

Brightangelhope,
This is so complete and backs up what Vic had said. This is genuinely
helpful and a bright light of direction for all of us. Its funny, but now that
you two mention it, when I have grazed on whole grains and a bit of meat, I
did end up loosing those days. At least I think those were the times that I
did.
Eating a full meal 3 times a day doesn't do it for me either. I will need
to space out meals smaller and more frequently, with less fresh fruit. I want
to use more protein powder too. I found a 100 calorie, one scoop protein
powder at GNC called American WHEY Isolate in vanilla that I put fresh
watermelon in it and it turns it pink and is delicious tasting. I can tolerate it
and its very low in calorie.
THANK YOU for the food chart location on the computer and your pretty
complete description of how and when you eat. 16 1/2 years out and I am intently
listening very carefully :)
Peace, Lee

Starting in Sept 2004, by low-calorie eating dieted my way down to 115,
Have maintained that weight for 3 1/2 years.

lee - sorry, didn't know all that. I wish you much patience and all the best; you will 'make it' with time. Very cool about your hips. You may be adding 'muscle weight'.

I have three jean wardrobes. I fit in the middle. I would like to give away the large jeans. I have to tie a string around the waist because my weight is in the hips and thighs. I have just started menopause and what I could get away with before I need to stop. This lifelong weight problems has just gotten harder. I made myself look at the CDC map that shows the obesity rate since 1985 to 2007. I took out the scale today to weigh myself. I am not sure how often I will weigh self. I am looking for any help how to control portions.
