Dont look at me... :D

All I am doing now is going back on full protein powder and broth. My
stomach has grown ...because...I am no longer lactose intolerant. As I wasn't
before, my stomach now has grown to where it can accommodate the enzyme again.
Even water is becoming tolerable again. This scares me to no end.
But what I am doing with this new information, is using it. Since I tried
the old whey protein and was fine with it, I am going to just drink it and
use it and work it in for meals along with excersize.

I know my stomach has grown and it may just be from the swelling going down
too. The surgeon told me that as it unswells, it would grow larger. I also
knew that if I ever became normal with milk again that that would mean that
it grew too. I was not looking forward to this day at only a few months out

It will take some buying the right things, like Ezekeal Bread and barley
and the right things to keep the fiber up in my body and fats down to zero.
But I love hotdogs now and then.

At the pool I bring with me one hard boiled egg everytime I go and a drink
or two. I swim there for one hour and then go home and bike ride one more
hour in the late evening. The tool is bound to grow, that's the nature of the
body, just not so soon. What to do about it? The ones farther out will have
to advise us on what to do about that.

I am game for a partner in the protein powder game for inspiration and
advice on mixtures.

peace, lee

I am 15 1/2 months out and don't even feel like I have had the surgery. I
can eat, nothing bothers me really. I am so frustrated right now. Was down to
194 lbs and quit smoking and back up to 209 now. This isn't good. I graze a
lot. I think a lot of it is head hunger. I need to get a grip. Any
suggestions?

~Kel

That is funny and not funny that the mono deceased your appetite. I think
that trying something for only a bite or two is a good thing. It reensures
your taste buds that they really didnt want it after all. I have tried a few
things only to find out that it wasnt all that I thought it would be.
Thank YOU for that validation.

Peace to our hunger and pouches, Lee

Lee,

I'm 16 1/2 months out and I don't have hunger attacks very often.
Something sounds really good, so I'll eat it, take just a few bites, and I can't eat
anymore. I have wasted so much food by doing this.
At three months out, I was really sick. Numerous trips to the dr. & er.
Then I got mono, which really decreased my appetite.

I feel the same way if I see something I really want to eat (with the exception to sweets) I will take one or two bites and be done. I waste allot of food that way. But if we go out to eat my husband doesn't order anything he just waits till I take my two bites then finishes the rest. It is kind of funny. Sara

I couldn't drink my protein drinks right after surgery even though I loved them before surgery. I found out it was the milk that was really bothering me so I started mixing it with water and ice and now I can drink two a day. I used the Syntrax Nectar chocolate truffle flavor and that has 22 grams of protein. Then I add two scoops of beneprotein with a total of 32 grams of protein per 8oz shake. If you mix it with milk thats additional protein. My doctor wants me to have at least 60 grams of protein a day so two of the shakes meets the requirements. The other protein I eat is a very small amount because I'm not hungry, it probably totals 20 grams if I'm lucky. Sara----- Original Message -----

Sara,
Yes, I think mixing it with water just may do the trick. With water, it
doesnt overload the system with lactate and it is less harsh on our systems. I
didnt try the ice yet but I did try fruit like watermelon and cantelope and
banana's. Its good so far.

Peace, Lee
