I have to take B 12 and others because I am low but darn not like you are. My problem with any thing like that was protein I could not get enough as we all know to well we have to drink that nasty stuff however I am a hard head and did I my very best to avoid at all cost the protein drinks all together YES THAT'S ALL ON ME lol.. and lost about 50 % of my hair and the doc was secondes away from doing a feeding tube. I took care of a man who has a feeding tube and you know that was MORE then enough to do better with that but again that was me not wanting to drink all that stuff YUCK.... I did find a few different things to replace the drinks one is called a protine shot not sure who makes it looks like its in a test tube.. NASTY but its not very much so if you can get it down your good. The other stuff is Isopure its like koolaid and I love it.. NO nasty make you have the shivers when you drink it. Its about 4.50 a bottle at GNC and they have like 5
different ones anyway.. I like them half that cals and NO carbs and 40G of protine,,, I drinkk one of them a day and I am ok... Not woonderful I know he would like for me to bring it up more but it is with in normal low normal but still normal. I hope you feeeling better soon..

I too have had bad luck so to speak. 2 weeks after the WLS I was hospitalized for my first kidney stone blockage. That was over 6 years ago. I still have regular stones so much that I am now on disability. I am also very anemic and am currently having iron infusions, my vit d is bottomed out, my b12 bottomed out, and more... I understand about changing the decision if you could go back in time. My hubby is also upset that I have been sick all these years. I had surgery on 2/19/03 weighing in at 322 lbs. I went down to 198 lbs about 3 years out, but since I have gotten worse with the stones and lethargy I have gained and now weigh 260 lbs. I can not seem to get the energy to move so nothing happens with the weight. I was anemic a year ago, but the doc said it was due to a "heavy flow" LOL. I do not think it could be this bad due to my flow. Hopefully after the infusions are over (8 of them), I will have some energy to move again and I can get some of
this weight off again.

Has anyone had bad stuff happened to them after the bypass? I have been plagued with CRAP for almost 6 months. I got very sick and was in the hospital (that had nothing to do with the bypass) but when I was in hospital the doctors found out that my liver was failing however it turns out that it was something that "fixed" itself that is by liver caught up with my body and it comes and goes but it's not a big deal however I was In the hospital an extra week getting poked on.
The next thing happened also had nothing to do with the bypass however when I was having my appendix out they found a fistula (I think that's how it's spelled) anyway… and it had to be fixed they did 6 weeks after I got out of the hospital. However when they did I aspirated and ended up with septic lungs and was VERY ill in the hospital for 2 weeks…
This last time I was at working and lifted one of my guys up and in to bed and my bowl herniated and had to have a very emergency operation and it just seems to me that I have been in hospital more then not… and I was wondering if anyone else had such BAD LUCK after. I would not redo my bypass even if it meant that I would not have to have been sick I know it's saved my life but man oh man I am sick of being sick you know???

Thank you. I have found a protien powder at GNC that I can not taste at all.... AMAZING right, lol. The only thing is that it does not disolve and is slightly grainy in the drinks that I make, but, still, no flavor at all. It is Natural Brand Soy Protein, has 60 cals, 13 g prots and 0 carbs. If I use it a few times a day in different meals or drinks I can get plenty of protein but, as you say it is on me. I do not like the texture in the drink. I have not had any problems with protein intake because I am a meat eater, but for the first time in my life (even at 322 lbs) my cholesterol is slightly elevated. Maybe because I have been eating alot of red meat to help make up the iron loss (not to mention I like beef). But, I keep telling myself that when I am feeling up to it I will start walking a little at a time again. I was always heavy (200 lbs by the time I was 17 yo) but I would walk miles with no trouble. Now I have trouble walking from the living room to the kitchen because my joints ache due to the Iron Infusions. I feel like I am 60 yo. LOL. I keep telling myself also, that eventually my body will run out of things to go wrong and I will be all better, LOL. I do not believe that but, I do believe that I will get better and lose this weight again.

Hi Chelsea, I went thru this after my surgery as well. I was so afraid to gain weight I was exercising 3-4X a day and was abusing diet pills. My BMI went down to 17.8. My supervisor at work yelled at me and held up my bony arm and said "This is not attractive". I started seeing Dr. Friday (a WLS psychiatrist) who helped me out a lot. I am 7 years post op and still struggle a lot and will admit I still "experiment" with diet pills on and off. I could easily fall back into that pattern. I went down to a little girls size 14. You say you are already seeing a therapist so that is good. It really helped me. I have been at a "normal/acceptable" weight for 4 years now. I would like to lose 25 lbs since I have gained that over the last 3 years and losing it would bring me back to a more healthier weight but not underweight but I have to be careful that I don't "slip" back into the obsession, which would be very easy to do. When I look back at the pictures when I was that small I can now see how sickly I looked and my supervisor was right, it was not attractive at all!!

Before my wls last June I was approx 260 lbs and now I weigh 104. I'm 5'3" so that's not terrible, but more and more I find myself exercizing to the point of exhaustion or pain and forcing myself to vomit up at least one meal a day. Has anyone else gone through this? What kind of help do you recommend? I'm on medication for depression and anxiety and see a therapist regularly. Please, any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I buy unflavored protein powder at GNC. I take m y medications with
pudding so I mix 1 scoop (21g protein) with each 4oz pudding. I get a
total of 28g protein including the lactaid milk. There is no taste and the
medications go down fine. I do that twice a day.
Hope this helps.

> Hi everyone,I have been a member now for a long time but never posted. I have noticed lately that I feel out of control with me eating habits. I am 26 months out from surgery and was wondering if anyone else went through eating everything and anything, even if you were;nt hungry or you knew you would'nt feel well afterwards. Any suggestions, I worried.
