I, too, am still on vacation (we go home later today) and am finding
eating a little challenging..I am hoping all the exercise (took a 1.5hour
walk along the beach this morning, etc.) will balance out the food. I am
trying but sometimes I do give in to temptation. That is the best part of
WW, you can still have whatever you want, but have to make wise choices
on the portions. I know I would have gained if I had not been so vigilant
about what I have been eating. I will report after my weigh in! Heidi

Heidi,
You sounds like you are making good choices and I think that your head is in the right place. Good luck with your weigh in.
We are driving from Calif to Penna via Canada so it is alot of driving and not much exercise but I am taking short walks at lunch and dinner. The eating had been betther the last two days since we are now out of the National Parks....I know whn I get to Penna I can go to the YMCA Sat. I will go to a meeting and weigh and since I'll be with my grandbaby I'll be getting more exercise....

Thanks Cindy
Having fought a chronic illness for 12 years and now being better, I feel like I have to do this for me and to regain my health and energy. I figure I have been through "hell" and back so losing weight is a present for me and me alone! I have decided to take it 5 pounds at a time!

I knew that if I didn't lose weight and learn how to live a healthy life that I would be on the sidelines of life and unable to enjoy most of the blessings of life. I DECIDED that the living with the weight was harder than learning what I needed to learn and then doing what I needed to do.

Use all the tools you will get at meetings and use these women here to help you keep your eyes on the prize.

List Rules
1) NO discussion about sugar substitutes. This is one of the hottest topics and people are extremely opinionated. If you're concerned about sugar substitutes, hit Google. Don't discuss it here. You may share recipes with sugar substitutes and you may ask which bakes the best, etc., but NO discussion about health aspects. Do your own research and come to your own conclusions.
2) NO discussion of how Weight Watchers works. Can't come here and have us teach you the program. Most of the members here are paying members and Weight Watchers has a copyright on their information. They have a great program and deserve their financial compensation. So we won't tell you how the program works. Join up and get the materials for yourself!
3) NO solicitation for money. Period. Ever.
4) Be nice. Play nice. Share, share, share!
5) If you think you're still on moderated status, chances are you probably are. Email me privately at Serious-Weight-Watchers-owner@yahoogroups.com and put MODERATION in the subject line. Then ask to be taken off moderation. This is one busy group with over 5000 members, and taking people off moderated status is often times put on the back burner. Only make this request if you've been a member of the group for a month and have posted a few times.
6) If you want to discuss OT stuff, join the group set up by Kerry and Sherri. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/SWW-OTdiscussion/
7) Don't write a post to the group announcing you're leaving because you're upset about X, Y or Z at the group. People who do this are trying to stir things up. The funny thing is, as moderators, we know when people unsub. Those that try to stir the pot and announce they're leaving never do! They send a post, trying to cause problems, then stay and watch. When you see this behavior here or at other groups, know you're dealing with trolls or people with no class.

I have only been on Weight Watchers less than two weeks. The first
week I dropped six pounds. I don't know how I'll do this week. I have
been on steroids (just the six day dose) and feel as if I am
constantly hungry. I think I have eaten my weight in raw celery,
tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower and bell peppers trying to stop the
hunger. Any other ideas? So far I have not gone over my daily points
except one day each week-but only used 1.5 points from the weekly
points last week and only 1 point so far this week. But I fell so
bloated and huge.
Also looking for two recipes-for a good marinade, not one that will
add a lot of spicy flavor, but one that will tenderize well without
using a lot of oil, as so many recipes call for. I also prefer lemon
juice over vinegar in a marinade recipe.
Secondly, I'm looking for a barbecue sauce recipe. Our favorite is
Bullseye, but I felt as if that put too much extra on my chicken.
My name is Claudia. I have three grown children, and my daughter is
doing Weight Watchers at work and got me started. She still lives at
home, so I have her support there-good thing, my husband gives lip
service to supporting me on this, but then constantly says things like
"I don't know why you started this around the 4th of July," and "I
don't know why you started this now with our birthdays coming up."
Sigh.I am doing it online, as our only meeting place is clear across
the other side of town, so I checked online to see if I could find
some more support. I'm still trying to figure out the discussion board
on the Weight Watcher's site. For some reason it doesn't act like any
other discussion board I've ever used. I guess I'll get the hang of
it, eventually.
Right now I am a full time college student.

Welcome to the group Claudia! 6 lbs your first week is AWESOME! I've
been on WW since 6/14/07 and have lost 52.5 lbs as of last Tuesday's
WI(i keep yo-yoing the last 6 months or so, my own fault though). I'm
Melissa, 35, living in Dover, Delaware. I am married to Will, and we
have 2 kids, Mary who's 9 and Willie who's 4.5. My husband is great
about helping support me with WW, even paying for my online membership
while I'm off work for the summer(I'm a teacher). Right now I'm
waiting until he pays for our cars to be transferred(we just moved here
for MD) to join the YMCA(it's expensive to join), so that'll help me
with the exercise, but we DO have a pool(something we've never had of
our own before), so that's a nice boost. Hopefully when we get back
from FL August 1st we'll join and I'll be able to ramp up my exercise
again(although I'll start working again shortly after that, so I'll
have to use the daycare there for the kids).
Sorry, I can't help with the recipes, I just use stuff that's already
out there. Have you done a search on the Weight Watchers website?
I've seen some great recipes on there, although I haven't tried any. I
do have several of their cookbooks, I just don't have time to do fancy
dinners, I just play around with what's at home and make it more
points-friendly.
Good luck this week. I WI on Tuesday at home, and I'm hoping for a
good loss(I gained 1.9 lbs last week :( ).

I took the dog for a walk and then had bf come and get us so I could see how far we walked. We walked for an hour, 4.1 km or just over 2.54 miles.
Next is the stationery bike.
I have to go work bingo this afternoon for the cat club, 4:30 until midnight, so we bring a meal. My friend who is in WW too brings fruit, mmmmmmm....

PS. Hopefully the dog will sleep while we are at bingo now!

What a great idea. I have nothing to share today (I am new to the
group and less than two weeks on Weight Watchers) but knowing that
this thread will pop up every day will encourage me.
There was a while, a year or so back, that I went to the gym three
days a week and worked out for about 75 minutes each time, as well as
took belly dancing classes twice a week. I got out of the habit when
my work out partner went back to work, and for the past three
semesters I've ended up with college classes the same nights as belly
dance class. However, I have no real excuse for that, as I have
probably 10 belly dance DVDs.
So, I will try and having something to report tomorrow!

Reading this made me want to post. I am quite new and have not written for quite some time. I want you to know that I have once more gotten back to my goal weight. I am thrilled. I am a life time member and have started to go back to WW meetings. Even though I wasn't posting, I have been journaling all of my foods. We are about to take a three week vacation. We will be in our 5th wheel trailer, so I will be able to prepare my own meals in most cases and this is a very big help. I will not always be able to get to a computer, so may not be able to post very often, but will try. Yes, thanks for this list it is wonderful to know you are out there. Have a great day. Janice

NON-Scale Victory
When I started attempting any kind of activity swimming was on top of the list because I could get more done with less pressure on my feet ankles knees & hips.
I remember being in tears and out of breath as I squeezed into a size 4-X swimsuit. It was a real JOB getting it on my size 6-X body.
I have sewn up each side seam once to take it in a little but lately as I wore that 4-X I have keeping it up with pins in various places because now it is way too big.
This weekend I saw a swimsuit on sale and bought it.
I just put it on with minimal effort.
SIZE 18
I am crying so much I can't see the screen or keyboard.
Be happy with me
