HI Claudia! I looked at Sonic's site and you're right, not a SINGLE
thing that's point-friendly :(. I'm going to go with my Mom for dinenr
and get their grilled chicken salad(and use my dressing) and it's the
best I could do :(. Oh well, at least I looked first, right? I want
to go just for the experience and since I don't see my mom often(she's
from NJ, we're in DE, but we just moved here), it'll be nice to be
together. Do they actually do the rollerskate to your car thing? They
show it on tv, but we've never seen anyone on skates when we are
driving by. Should be fun. My kids love McD's so something different
will be nice. You're really lucky that your kids/grandkids like alot
of healthy stuff, I've never been that lucky. My dad used to make me
sit and eat veggies till I was done, whether I liked them or not, and I
always swore I would never be like that. I just ask them to try a
spoonfull or 2 and if they don't like them, they can stop(not that they
won't get them again, just not that day). My daughter will now eat
corn, green beans if they're fresh, and carrots. My son will eat almost
anything at least in little amounts. I planted a small garden of
carrots, green beans, cucumbers, and radishes that I'm hoping they'll
eat at least some of(I know *I* will :) ).

RE: If you want to try Gum--Try the Extra Fruit Sensations. It's sugar free and doesn't stick to dental work---unless you just let it sit there in your mouth, then it sticks a little. I'm not a gum chewer either really. Just on rare occasion. My daughter suggested it--we both have dental work that regular gum sticks to.

Wow Claudia! That's awesome! I hate being hungry, so I always make sure I have healthy choices around, so that even if I go over on points I know I've made a good choice. Between that and exercising alot, I have been able to maintain my 83 lb weight loss for 7 months now. You are doing the right thing by keeping the veggies around. I'm glad you recognize that you won't be losing this much every week, but as long as you keep making great choices you will get to your goal! Great job!

Thanks so much for your reply. I do go to meetings every Wed. and
that is what my leader said last week is I may not be eating enough.
I do eat all of my regular points, but I never eat any of my extras.
It is not my TOM yet and I have to watch my sodium because of a
tendency to swell due to arthritis.

I will keep watching and waiting but iti s so discouraging to go to
meetings and hear everyone celebrating and I am not doing anything.

play around with it. Also, is it your TOM? I know I gain or maintain

Melissa is right - DON'T give up and quit. You WILL gain more than you've
lost. It's a given!!! Keep going and ask for help, others have been thru
this and many have ideas to re-jump start your weight loss. My sister said
she never (or rarely) used her extra 35 points. When she did, it would give
her metabolism a boost and she'd lose more weight. Crazy, but true. Worth
a try.

I have tried many times to lose weight but didn't stay motivated. I hope to do better this time. I may need surgery and my doctor told me I'm a high surgical risk but I'm also high risk for cancer.

I'm 65, have diabetes, and need to lose at least 65 pounds (to put me under 200) but more would be better.

I joined this list and a couple of others a long time ago and have mostly been no mail since then. I didn't delete any groups because I knew where to get support when I was ready to get serious. I will be sending this to the three groups I belong to so I hope you will forgive my duplicate posts,

Laura - are you going to the meetings? I have been trying to do it on my
own and even though this group is awesome in its support, you may need to
jump on this bandwagon and go to the classes. (maybe I haven't read enough
and you are already going to classes), but I think I need that weekly
accountability AND to actually see the people who are going thru the same
things I am.
