Hello everyone,

I really love this group,it has encouraged me in so many ways ~ I don't post much, however I read just about every post!

I am having an issue and wondering if anyone can relate and if so, please let me know how you worked through it.

Right now I am 2months and 11 days post opp ( I had the SLEEVE ) , over this time I have lost just about 50 lbs !! Yea ~ I am so excited and I found myself purchasing my first pair of (girl) boy jeans this weekend in the size of a 12 from a tight 18/20 and the 10's fit too, they were a little tight, however with the SMALLER tummy rolls-I didn't purchase them. next time :-) (both my boys, were there watching all of this happen and the told me "mom, we are so proud of u"

Here is what I am going through at these last few days.... I have no energy, I am going through some emotional stuff, I just last week had my Dr. put me on some Percify that helsp me to focus, with anxiety and some depression ( it's on and off for me ) so atleast I have something to balance me out. I used to emotional eat, now I can't OR choose not too. I just have no energy and I do eat & drink as much water as I can, do a couple spin classes a week and walk my dog a mile - two miles a night, depends on how I am feeling. Loosing this much weight for the first time in my life is crazy and exciting at the same time and in the past with all the attention that I am begining to receive, this would be where I start eating all over again, to hide from the attention. Now, I am pushing through this attention and welcoming it for the first time in my life. I just feel like a WRECK, noo energy, I don't feel like doing much and I wake up feeling sick in the morning. I am used to drinking about almost a gallon a day in water before my surgery, now it's all that I can do to get through 32 oz of Smart Water (it doesn't make me feel so bloated as other waters do when having such a small 4 oz puch) I drank my first entire bottle of water in 2 months in 1 hour the last spin class I did. I was so excited about that!

I start my day out with Isopure 50g protien shake every morning for sure so that I start my day out with protien then the rest of the day, I may get 40g of protien pending on how many other EAS low carb shakes i drink, so some days I could end up with 100g of protien and possible couple of small snacks.

My last visit to my WLS Dr. they did a ultrasound on my Gallbladder and it came back with the sludge in it and said that I needed to take this medicine or I would have to have it removed. It's still bothering me some, yet not anything like it was.

I don't know whats going on with me, is it just the dramatic change that my body is going through? the amount of weight loss that I am acheiving the mental part of me is freaking out ! I completly stay away from sweets, sodas, beer, popcorn, pizza and Taco Bell and cookies ~ because I don't want to ever go back to my old ways of snacking / eating. So I take this journey 1 day at a time!! I keep ALL meals under 10g of FAT and under 10g of Sugar! I am adamat about this as my dr said that I would dump and I personally HATE to get sick or feel sick and this is exactly the way I have been feeling and I have been on track. Am I missing some Iron ? I am on a GNC super Vitamin and Calicium, vit D and C- with some other nutritional drinks through my MLM company.

I have to have my spunky personality and my energy as I run a concierge company here in Dallas... It's just gone. PLEASE HELP !!!!!

Thank you for reading and any feedback would be awesome! Congratulations to all of you out their with your WLS success.

To your success,
Amy J

It does not fix the head but if you follow the rules, eventually, food does not control you like it used to and you prefer to stay on track and eat healthy.
I am 8 months out and feeling great. I've lost 60 pounds and wish to lose 20 more.
I do have some dumping symptoms but it is usually happens after eating high fat foods (fried things) and a lot of sugary foods (whole piece of cake).
I have enjoyed a beer since surgery but the carbonation bothered me after 2 beers.
The problem I see is that you are not supposed to drink while eating so you might want to drink up before the taco arrives or you will have to wait 30 minutes or so before you can enjoy the beer!
I personally have not thrown up anything but my doctor says people usually throw up because they either ate too much or did not chew their food properly. Every person is different though.
Hope this helps!

I am a bit of an emotional eater and realize this is a tool and that although it fixes your body, it doesn't fix your head. I am concerned about that aspect and also the dumping syndrome. I have been making great strides in not over eating although I still do from time to time. Please let me know your thoughts on this massive step.

Great info and thank you!  I met a guy last night who had it and was having a beer so that is a relief.  I'm on track for my pre-approval and getting exited about a new me! Thanks for the tip!

LeAnne -

It's true, you have to fix your head, but your RNY will help you a great deal towards doing that if you treat it respectfully. One thing I've learned in the last 10 years is I am simply chronically always hungry...so, I graze on well-chosen, nutritious foods and I exercise. I will never 'feel' like a normal person with no food issues, but I look like one, thanks to some applied self-discipline and my RNY.

I drink red wine more often than beer, because for some reason, even the lightest beer makes me retain weight. Wine does not have that effect on me at all. Your mileage may vary, but too much of anything will create weight issues. Moderation is the key. Best of luck in your journey to a healthier you.

-Vic
