Wow.... and double wow Galen!!
I am a bit of a lurker... Not quite ready to commit. HOwever I read these posts daily. All of you have been a tremendous inspiration to me. I have lost on WW before. After reading all of your posts.. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be able to do this again. Just not entirely ready today is all.
Galen... you are a new woman. Almost everything must be new to you. This amazing weight loss must effect every part of your life. I am soo happy for you. I love a success story and yours surely is one. And... you're beautiful as well!!!

I began WW on July 3 at 244 lbs and last night, July 30th, was at 234.  That is 10 pounds gone forever!!!!

Wow Cindy...a folder! Yipes!
I will be honest and say that I do LOVE feeling like I look good. It isn't
that I walk around all day wiggling my hips saying "Look at me!" but I like
not feeling like people are looking at me judgmentally. But the fact is, I'm
getting older and even if I had a hot hot body when I first lost, things are
shifting and moving (where did that back fat come from??) and falling and
sliding. While I'd say that, in clothes, I have a pretty good body for a 44
year old, I certainly am not winning any bikini beach contests! And it isn't
going to get any better!

But the energy, the ability to get up and go out and have fun doing anything
I want, the knowledge that if I want to try bobsledding (hee hee),
parasailing, kickboxing, or Zumba I can go in and just go for it, knowing I
have the capabilities. I remember clearly walking up the steps in Seattle
and pretending 3 or 4 times that I wanted to turn around and look at the
view, but really needing to catch my breath. Now I can sail up them without
evening thinking. That is what it's all about! Being able to live life to
its fullest!

I had a bit of a health scare yesterday that turned out to be a false alarm.
In the process I had a very detailed stress test and was told I was the
healthiest 44 year old women they'd seen, that I had done the second longest
stress test ever (they didn't tell me that until after, or I could have gone
the full 22 minutes), and that my heart looked perfect...no damage, nothing
to indicate any cardiovascular problems, no blockage (almost everyone has
SOME blockage). Nothing.

I may look okay on the outside, but I apparently look FANTASTIC on the
inside! That's worth all the exercise in the world!

I know a woman who lost 190 pounds.

I think you've posted about this before. Would you do us a favor and just
post things like this one time, please? I think it's wonderful that this
lady has lost 190 pounds and I applaud her for that, but let's just keep
requests for votes to a minimum. Particularly since she's not a member of
our group. You are a great friend for trying to get her the votes, but our
list is just way too busy most of the time. I'm afraid this might start
something that will become an issue in the future.

I kayaked for 90 minutes, and was a good samaritan because I paddled out to
every piece of litter I saw and picked it up. My poor little kayak was fully
of junk by the time I got back to shore. Hope the birds appreciated that!
Then I ran 3 miles after dinner.

5. August Goals

With
today the last day of July and getting heavier and heavier as time goes
on, I have no choice but to stop being lazy and get this weight off
once and for all!! I will be turning 30 September 9, 2010 and I will be
at my goal weight on or before that date!

I
think I am getting a pretty good handle on the eating part; thank you
to South Beach!! Now, it's time to get ready to exercise!

My
goal for the month is to have at least 500 minutes of exercise, that is
approximately 16 minutes per day. I don't work out on Sundays, but even
still, I should hit and pass my goal without issue!!

Tomorrow morning I will take a monthly picture and measurements...I'm worried!
