Making your routine and self-care portable are key, if you are to profit
from an away from home experience.
What exercise is your mainstay now? How will you replace it if that is not
available where you are headed?

I really feel being able to plan in some "junk food" is one of the
reasons why this plan works for so many people, and will work for me.
Not only are there so many healthier alternatives out there now then
even 5 years ago (not to mention 35 years ago, the first time I was on
WW), but WW plans to let you overindulge each week and not feel guilty
with those extra points. It's a mental thing. In the past, you "blew"
your diet with a bowl of ice cream or piece of cake you would think
"What's the use, I am pond scum, I have no will-power, so I might as
well give up!" Now with those extra 35 points each week (and more if
you earn Activity Points) you don't have to beat yourself up mentally
if you have a weakness. Psychologically, that is a huge factor.
All this is my humble opinion, anyway!

Regarding the junk food. You can have it provided you plan for it. I
have Ice cream made with Splenda almost every day--2 points per 1/2
cup. I also buy a mixed bag of Baked Chips--pretzels, Ruffles,
Cheetos, Doritos---from WalMart. 2 or 3 points each. So I just count
them along with the rest of my points for the day.

I was the one with the bread. It is Wonder Light Sourdough Bread. For
two slices there are 80 calories, 0.5 grams fat and 5 grams of fiber.
That comes up to 1 point on my calculator. It is a good, soft white
bread, for those of us who never have gotten to like the taste of
whole wheat.
My daughter introduced me to Hungry Girl and has two of her books. I
have Hungry Girl on my Facebook and I get her daily e-mail. I also get
the Eat This Not That daily e-mail, and came real close to buying the
book yesterday.

thanks for the welcome Faye..
what's the brand of your bread that is only 1 point for two
slices.. I can't find any at my local stores? I think you mentioned
it in the cheese sandwich discussion..... Are any of you on
Hungrygirl.com or have her recipe books? I'm also a great fan of
David Zinczenko's books "Eat this, Not that".. great information in
them and a great source for getting the most healthy packaged foods
or restaurant foods....

One more thing on my previous e-mails about getting Healthy Girl and
Eat This Not That e-mails, I went to finish reading mine and had an
e-mail from Paula Deen. I may have to discontinue that and put away
her cookbooks and magazines for the time being. That, or get busy

My name is Kim. I recently joined the group. I started WW online on Sunday. I have been a member of WW in the past. I'm coming back because I am at my highest weight I've ever been.
I'm doing very well on Momentum. I'm not feeling hungry at all. I've walked about 4 times this week about 1 1/2 miles each time.
I'm looking forward to the sharing and support here.

Our "assignment" this week at WW is to come back next week with a recipe
that we fix all the time because it's easy AND good. Thought that might be
a good topic of exchange here. A new, easy recipe(or just a good meal plan)
might help some of us out of the SIAR Syndrome. (Stuck In A Rut).
Got anything? My favorite meal lately has been:
Chicken or Salmon
Whole Grain Wild Rice
Snap Peas
Layer rice, chicken then snap peas and add a dash of teriyaki sauce. My
husband loves it too! I always divide up the leftovers for lunches later in
the week at work.
