We have a file that posts every so often that lists some rules of the group.
I'm going to have to add two:
No posting requests for votes. (For critters, for friends, for cute kid pictures, etc.) It's just too off topic and the group is too large.
Secondly, no forwards. I know they're cool, but they're best for friends. We really need to keep on topic here. We don't allow attachments here anyway, so a lot of the cool graphics don't come through.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
I think this group runs really well because we keep the off topic stuff out. That doesn't mean we can't be friendly and warm--that's best done with words, celebrating each others' victories, giving support when needed, etc.
Thanks!
Listmom Lyn

Thanks, Sherry, I know you are right. A friend, who is an RN,
suggested it might be the steroid shot I got for my heel spur/plantar
faciitis. I didn't think one shot would still be affecting me that
way. I'm waiting to hear back from her.
But I'm not going to get discouraged. I got mad at my husband in the
grocery store today (military commissary) as he bought me a candy bar
(Ritter bar, from Germany) to put back "just in case you get chocolate
hungry." Sometimes he is so supportive, and sometimes so frustrating,
too. I got mad, but hurt, too, because I felt as if he was saying to
me he didn't think I'd make it. Well, you know what, I shrugged it
off, going to try and forget about the chocolate bar even being in the
house, and it has made me even more determined to show him I CAN DO
THIS!!!
My daughter was on vacation last week visiting her brother,
sister-in-law and niece and nephew, so she didn't weigh in last week,
but this week she had lost 3.2 pounds. She was happy and I was happy
for her. She was a little worried.

you are on the right track.....don't fret over a minor setback...now
is the time to put that behind you and move on to this week.....when
we dwell on minor setbacks we have a tendancy to repeat them....go

After being almost PERFECT on WW this week (not going over points one
time, eating all I should most days-I do have a problem with milk, but
take calcium supplements) I gained 1.2 pounds.

Hi Claudia! I'm so sorry you ended up with a gain instead of a loss.
It must be so upsetting, since you did so well during the week. Makes
you just want to quit, I know. BUT, don't quit, hang in there. We all
have a weird way with the scales. For instance, I have an every other
week style - one week, I have lost 4 pounds, the next week, I have
lost 0.8 pounds, the next week, I have lost 4.6 pounds, the next week,
I've lost 0.8 pounds. And I essentially eat the same things each week.
Who knows why the scales does this to us? But hang in there, a loss
WILL show up, and it will be a big loss. Keep on tracking, and keep ON
TRACK. The pounds WILL come off. You are a winner! The scales each
week are screwy, and they may take an extra week to catch up to where
you are. Hang in there!!!!

I know, I know, temporary setback. I am retaining fluid this morning.
I ate a couple salty items yesterday, and had a couple tomatoes with
salt. And, even with all the fiber and water (I drink a half-gallon
mug of water daily, plus other liquids), I am having a little problem
going to the bathroom. So, today I'm pulling the watermelon I got
Saturday out of the cooler and pigging out on that. It normally
remedies both of those problems (and it tastes so good!!!), and look
forward to a great weigh in next week.

Anyone know how to grill asparagus? I hear that is really good, too,
and that is my favorite vegetable. I usually just steam it with only a
little salt, nothing else. That is my favorite way to eat it.

I light spray with olive oil season with a bit of salt/pepper and garlic powder. Grill. I think you have to experiment with it to find out how well you like it cooked...I like my crispy but DH likes it well done....I do all kinds of veggies this way, zuccini, onion, eggplant, scallions, peppers, mushrooms on sticks.

Thank you Jen. I didn't realize it was still on the Weight Watchers
site!
That was a GREAT weekend. They flew me to New York, did the whole
makeup and
photoshoot thing. I felt like a STAR! Plus everyone there was SO nice.
That's part of the reason you might see me show up in a magazine every
now
and again. Once you're a success story they will contact you every
year, get
an official weigh in, and then send your story out. I think they like
to
hear stories of people who have not only lost it, but kept it off.
Six years and counting at my goal weight!
