Deb,
wow, your trip sounds like a blast! Are your legs jelly-like yet?
LOL. That's so awesome that you had such a great time. I'd love to do
that with my kids when DS(now 4.5) is a little older. DD is 9 and
would enjoy it now, but maybe in a few years!
Good luck at WI. You should do very well.

Hey all, back from the trip out west with youngest DD and 4 of the 6 grandkids. We had a ball! I am going to "testify" at the meeting tomorrow morning no matter the weigh in result (even though I am not afraid of it, teehee).. Last year I would never have been able to do what I did this year. I put a suit on and went into the hot tub the first nite and then climbed out and went down the water slide!! Twice!! It was such fun! I almost went upside down, lol... Then we went horseback riding. Honestly! I was no beauty climbing on, lol, granddaughter caught a pic of me. But dangit I got up on that horse and off I went for an hour long ride up in the Blackhills. I went to Rushmore and climbed all of the stairs goin in, booked down them to the amphitheater and then climbed over 130 stairs down and 230 back up! I did! I stopped once to get my breath from the altitude is all. Then we went back 2 nites later for the lighting ceremony and did most of the climb
again! Not to mention all of the fun clamboring around in the mountains... climbing rocks for great pics.. okay, I'll stop now.. but it was such a wonderful trip for all 7 of us and I ate crème' brulee'! I'm smiling from what my scale says and looking forward to weigh in since 2 weeks ago. No matter what it says. I had a ball! And I am back totally OP!
Welcome to the newbies! We can do this thing dangit! Looking forward to celebrating with all of you.
Congrats to the Losers!!! Keep on rollin downward!
Hang in there to the gainers, next week is another opportunity to change your life! Let's do it!
I have over 790 emails so gonna pretty much mass delete the rest that I haven't responded to yet. I'm getting cross eyed, lol..
Hugs to all!

That is so awesome! I am going to get back in shape again, I just know
I am. I want to be able to do the same things you did on your
vacation.
The vacation sounded great, and with ALL THOSE STEPS you probably had
a lot of extra activity points you never even touched!!!

I' m sitting hear laughing about your husband Claudia. I can remember that mine use to be the same way at restraunts. Funny how the little boys show up in our guys. On our cross crountry trip I told mind that egg white were really low in calories and I could eat them in an omlette. After 4 days boy was I sorry that I said that because when eating breakfast he would say they have eggs here so you can have your egg whites....Well, we had a little talk about egg whites. He was really being helpful but the little girl came out in me kinda like you husband. I've been on WW for 35 years so he really is supportive it just goes sto show communication is really important.

Claudia, good for you and very good for him with his health problems. My DH too is diabetic and has lost 2 jeans sizes since Feb and his is lookin hot! LOL... It helps when they support you doesn't it?
Stopping for an egg beaters omlet or eggs and wheat toast would be a terrific sub. Stop and smell the roses and move away from the drive throughs! I know that he tries to support you, but pulling into fast food isn't very helpful for either of you. Remind him that you want to be around longer to be with him because you love him.... can he say the same? I thank my DH all of the time for caring enough to take care of himself. I remind him that I don't want to be lifting him from a wheelchair or any of the other things that might happen from the diabetes if he doesn't. If he tries and it still happens that is one thing..
Hang tuff!

I'm glad it wasn't just me. I'd actually rather make my own, and I
have the little rings to cook the egg with. But my husband has been so
good about not eating places where he knows the food has too many
points for me, so I was trying to make an effort, too. If I say "I
don't want anything, but you go ahead and eat there," he will often
get upset and say "If you aren't eating there, then I'm not either!"
Actually, this is a good thing in some ways-he's overweight and
diabetic (along with his other disabilities) so it is helping him,
too.

I have found the Egg McMuffins to be yucky too. The egg often tastes

3a. I need help........

I haven't posted in awhile but I still check in here everyday. I have been doing WW since Oct and have lost 78 lbs. I feel great but I still have about 70 more to go. In the last month I really lost my motivation. I have found that in the past when I get to the weight I am now, I just give up. I don't want to quit cause I want to lose more but I just can't get over my food addiction again. I have done good this week so far eating and walking, but I am back to wanting the junk food. I do know that I can't have it in my house. I think I just need to find out why I have this addiction and solve it once and for all, or I will never continue my journey and keep the weight off.
Does anyone have advice on this? I also think I need to start my B-12 shots again, cause those gave me energy and supposidly boosted my metabolism.

Tammy, first and foremost......congrats on your losses!! Good for you! And then you might also want to figure out why you don't love yourself enough to go on to success! It's scary for things to change. But if you still have that much to lose you have to stay on track or slip right back where you were or worse. Are you tracking? Are you walking or any other exercise? The tracking.. especially if right away points out (no pun intended, lol) what you are doing to your day. The walking lifts your spirits and gives you tons of energy. You have to see yourself where you want to be. What it is that you want. This is a lifestyle, not a diet. Live life dangit!! You are worth it!

Tammy,
I think many of us get to this point...That's why this group is so important. For me seeing others success and also knowing that others have challenges during their wt. loss.
Did you have a before picture? If so get it out and then take another picture of how you look now. See how you have changed. I have a list of Why I joined WW. to remind me of my goals. Also maybe its time for a new lipstick, pretty earrings, a hair cut. or a new outfit. I think we all get to the place at one time or another. You can get back on track.
You say you check out the emails. write us and let us help you
I'll be looking for your success.

I have found a lot of my food addiction is just the desire to have
something in my hands when doing things like watching TV, reading,
etc. I know I shouldn't be like that, but, I am. So, I keep celery,
bell peppers, etc. handy, as well as the snack packs of 94% fat free
popcorn. I keep Baked Lays in the house, with individual portions
already done up in plastic bags. Especially with snack foods, I make
myself eat them slowly, a bite of a potato chip, or a kernel of pop
corn at a time. Believe me, this is NOT how I used to eat.
Granted, I've only been on the program for five weeks, so I may not be
"on to" all the "tricks" yet (being able to trick my body into being
satisfied), and it may be different when I have been on it as long as
you have-harder to be satisfied with tricking your body. But right
now, this is what is working for me.
But I too, need to get over that addiction of doing something with my
hands.

Tammy,
I don't know if what I do will help you, but I also used to crave junk food.
Some things I do:
Eat fruit- fruit is sweet so can satisfy a sugar craving
Flavored Yogurt
100 Calorie Packs are also good because they are portioned
And lately I have been liking the carrots that are round and ridged shaped
and then I dip them in salsa. Yum

Deb,
I hope you did well at your meeting.
I lost 1.2 for the 4 weeks I was gone for vacation.
This is sthe first time in my 36 yrs on WW that I didn't feel guiily while traveling and I eat very well but didn't go overboard on any one food and that I didn't feel like I was on a diet.
I love this new plan. I also want to thank my dear hubby who was supportive finding restraunts that served the food that were on plan.

Since I am doing WW Online, the first thing I did was purchase a set
of good scales. It is still difficult for me not to get on them but
once a week, but I've succeeded all but one week.

I just toast the light bread and put the WW cheese in there, it kind melts and tastes so good. Can even add canadian bacon, which is 1 point.

Since I am still at 37 points a day, and have a hard time eating that
much, I still use the reduced fat cheese, and the Land-o-Lakes Light
Butter to make my grilled cheese, but use a low-cal sour dough bread,
I think it's Hostess, for my sandwiches. I never cared for whole wheat
bread and this is the only white low-cal bread I can find.
I figure as my points drop I'll have plenty of time to switch to the
spray butter spreads and fat free cheese. However, I do use the spray
butter on my 94% fat free popcorn! I love those snack bags, just the
right amount!

Faye,
This might not be as easy since you do have to use a skillet to melt
it, but I can make a grilled cheese for 2 points -- use Spray
margerine, 1pt/2slice bread, and Bordens FF cheese slices (1
pt/2slices!). I love them!!

I found a pair of the Real McCoy Croc flip flops at Big Lots for $12 today,
and I also found some with Mickey Mouse on them (sorry, I'm a child too) on
Amazon. I like them after races, and since I'm gearing up for a 50 miler I
want to baby my tootsies as much as possible!

Yes, I read they were looking at bankruptcy. I hope that doesn't mean
the company will fold. Many companies can make it through bankruptcy
and still stay in business.

I went to the Weight Watchers' store today. I wanted to get a digital
scale for food, and I also bought the serving spoons that are
pre-measured (1 cup spoon, ½ cup spoon and ¼ cup ladle). That is about
the smartest thing anyone has ever done!

Hi Everyone... I'm new to the list.. thanks Lynne for approving me!
<vbg>. So far, so good...
I'm married, retired and living in Northern Arizona.... I joined
WW the end of January.. and so are I have lost 23#.. it's been slow,
with some back and forths - but it's going - that's the important
part... I'm having some joint and foot problems and am using a cane
right now, so I'm not able to exercise much so I think that is one
reason for the slow lost..
I must say Galen - that you are my hero.. I can't believe how well
you've done... I hope your weight in was great this week.. I'll
look forward to reading more about your journey and the journey of
others on this list...
I think I am supposed to start with a recipe that I like - I
have one for southwestern popcorn snack mix, but it's off a web site
and I don't know if that is legal to post here... so until I find
out, I will just write one of my favorite filling breakfast.. for 4
points..
Toast two slices of bread, the ones I use have one point per
slice... spray with" I can't believe it's not butter and then cut
into quarters one direction and then the other direction so you end
up with squares...
scramble an egg and combine with cooked fresh mushrooms... Mix
in a bowl and then eat and enjoy.. this could also be less points
using egg whites, or egg beaters etc... but I like the real egg...
So - Hi to everyone... let me know if I can post that snack
recipe.. and I look forward to reading what everyone is up to and
getting inspired!
Oh and we have no children but right now two Border Collies out of
Border Collie rescue and two rescue gray tabby indoor carts...
Thanks, Mary Lou

12.1. My intro
Posted by: "Annie Littlewolf" mkdebord@comcast.net robindebord
Date: Wed Aug 5, 2009 9:21 pm ((PDT))
Hi! I'm Annie, and am 56 years old, and ready to get to my goal weight this time at WW. I did it once before, in 1987, but put the weight back on, plus some. This time, I'm ready to change my lifestyle, so that I can stay thin. I have 88 pounds to lose, and I just had my third weigh-in, and have lost 10.8 pounds so far. I feel like I can do it this time. I saved all my favorite "skinny" clothes, and am looking forward to being able to wear them again. My husband is naturally thin and so it is hard to cook for us. Also he is not vegetarian, and I am. So we have a double whammy. I am taking it one day at a time, and keep thinking maybe I should just give up being a vegetarian, so I can cook one meal, low cal, low fat, that we can both eat, but I just gag at the idea of eating meat. I just can't do it. So we have to do strange things to get dinner going for us. Sometimes just resorting to frozen meals heated in the microwave. There are plenty of vegetarian Weight Watcher frozen dinners, and they are good, and portion controlled. Then my husband can get a lasagna from Stouffers and it will fill him up. Last night, I made Cuban black beans over rice, which we could both eat, and I just controlled my portion sizes, and did fine. My husband refuses to eat anything with tofu or tempeh or TVP in it. He'll eat any vegetables I make, or potatoes or rice, but nothing that smacks of "health food". So, I just keep trying. I plan on starting a walking program tomorrow morning, to add to my plan. I don't want my metabolism to slow down, due to the lesser amount of food I am eating.
This time, on WW, I WILL do it, and do it for good. I do NOT want to grow old and be heavy. I figure I can get to my goal by Christmas of next year. I hope earlier than that, but to be realistic, I am setting my goal for Christmas of 2010.
I look forward to hearing from you all and exchanging ideas, tips and recipes.
