That is awesome news, Judee!
My husband told me something this morning that made me sooooo happy.
Even though I have only lost 22.8 pounds (only!!!) and have so much to
go, Mike told me I wasn't snoring anything like I used to before
starting WW. I used to use the snore spray, the nasal strips and still
snored! Due to falling asleep earlier (and better) recently, I haven't
used them. I was shocked this morning when he told me my snoring had
already improved. He said I have hardly been snoring at all, and when
I do it is not the loud, room shaking snoring I had been doing!
Yesterday I was able to button a blouse that I have never been able
to. I bought it to use as a blouse over other tops (sleeveless or
short sleeves, this one has ¾ length sleeves). I was in a hurry to go
out the door (my son, who has been sick with the same crud I had last
week asked me at the last minute to take him to the doctors as he
didn't feel up to driving. I was wearing an old tee shirt) and I threw
it on and started buttoning it, just to see, and it fit!!! I wore it
the rest of the day!
I love these NSVs!

I liked the idea that i could have a treat every once in a while if i
stayed within my points but now i wonder if i can do that because of
the insulin resistance that i have.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tanya, I am a Type 2 Diabetic. I have been doing WW for 6 weeks, and
have lost 10 lbs. as of today. My blood sugar levels were so high for
so long, I thought if I lost some weight it had to be good for my
overall diabetic health.
The first two days, my blood sugar levels never got under 200.....but
then the third day, they started dropping and dropping, and I am now
often in the normal range now during the day, as well as sometimes
130-140 when I wake up. These are numbers I have not seen for close to
5 years!!! I am eating fruit, yogurt, cereal and milk, WW goodies, and
loving it.........lol. Of course, I am eating protein and veggies as
well. Prior to WW, I ate mostly protein and veggies and still had high
levels..........
So I would say, although the WW way of eating is not set up for
diabetics, and often doesn't seem like what we are used to doing, I
think overall it is great for our bodies to loose the weight, and then
the blood sugar levels will fall in line. I can only speak from my own
personal experience.
Claudia,
What great NSVs! I wish my husband would lose weight and stop snoring,
but he swears it's his sinuses draining. YIKES keeps me awake longer
than usual for sure! Congrats on the blouse, too, that's a great nsv!
I have gone from a 18/20W 2 years ago to 12/14 regulars now, and I
actually fit in some 12s(not with 14s) of my MIL's that i try on once
in awhile just for fun. I'd love to be in an 8 or 10 by Christmas!
It's great to be able to shop in the ladies' dept instead of plus sizes
for sure! I can even wear a Large in some tops now, which I NEVER
would've even tried before WW(I'm large on top). I actually bought a
Medium(!) t-shirt at Disney, but I'm assuming it's a Men's medium
because it's BIG. I still wear it but I was shocked!
Have a great evening!
btw, hope your son feels better soon, I assume you're over the
crud???If not, I hope you're better soon too :)
I am an insulin dependent diabetic. And before WW I used to have avoid sugar
at all costs. But now if I stick to things like the flavored lowfat yogurts,
WW ice creams and goodies that they have at meetings, 100 calorie packs, my
sugar readings dropped. In fact, I've even had some sugar lows!
3a. question about a recipe
Hi
There is a recipe in the Sept/ Oct Weight Watchers magazine for Overnight Oatmeal with Apples. It sounds real good but I don't really want to have my oven on all night. Was wondering if anybody knew if this would work in a crock pot and if I would have to make any adjustments.
TIA
I didn't see the recipe but it sure is worth a try. I use the steel cut oatmeal. The night before i boil the water and pour it over the oats..in the morning it cooks quickly....I'm going to try the slow cooked too!
What is you is your REAL goal weight? From past experience it was hard for me two have 2 goal wts. Today I talked to my leader and decided that I would set one wt. Do you really want to be 130 then change you lifetime wt. to that. If you answer "Well, I don't know if I can maintain that." Then set a goal that is easy to Maintain....133,135,137. Trying to get to a weight that is this hard might not be the right one for you...
Jennifer,
Two things-- is 130 attainable and reasonable for you? You don't want to be frustrated.Try to just stick to the program and see what happens (I know-- easy for me to say!).
Also, I'll be curious to see how your training goes. I have been a receptionist since the beginning of the year and I like it pretty well so far. Good luck!
What is you is your REAL goal weight? From past experience it was hard for me two have 2 goal wts. Today I talked to my leader and decided that I would set one wt. Do you really want to be 130 then change you lifetime wt. to that. If you answer "Well, I don't know if I can maintain that." Then set a goal that is easy to Maintain.... 133,135,137. Trying to get to a weight that is this hard might not be the right one for you...
Gained 0.8. I am frustrated but know what I need to do. I am going to start doing pilates 5 days a week as well as my exercising.. Im up to .50 mile jogging at a time and I can get up to 6.4. Im going to stick with that for another week. It seems like 130 is never going to happen for me. Very depressing:- ((((
9. Help Me!
Posted by: "Faye Ridpath" ispgypsy@gmail.com fayefromtampa
Date: Thu Aug 20, 2009 12:39 am ((PDT))
Ok, I'm usually *so* good with the program but I have done bad bad bad the
last week and already Wednesday (first day of the new week) too. Last week
from Friday until early Wednesday (after midnight which is when I start my
new days and Wednesday is when I start my week). Anyway last week it all
started when one of those survey people approached me at the mall on Friday
(when I took our 9 year old daughter out to the mall to look for a necklace
I really wanted that I had seen advertised online) and said she would pay me
$4 to taste test some lunch meat. I decided rather than be constructive and
try to figure out the points for what I taste tested that I didn't know the
points and then quit tracking from them on! Why? I have no idea! Maybe one
of you does.
Then when after midnight rolled around on Wednesday I started out good I
said ok new week get back on track woman! And I did so good...Then... We
went to Golden Corral and I have been doing good even there but for some
reason last night I didn't. I still didn't go hog wild but I think I still
did bad. Because I had that too full yucky feeling. Oh and before that (I
did good from midnight till my WW meeting and you may think well of course
she did she didn't eat cuz it was midnight! But I do eat cuz I work 3rd
shift and even on my off days I try to stay up else I have a hard time
getting through my first day back on after I come off my off days) I was
doing good too. Then I went back to the mall cuz I had got my husband the
first book in Dean Koontz's Frankenstein trilogy and he liked it so much he
wanted the rest so I went to get them. Only there was still time to kill
till the mall opened so I went to Steak and Shake!
I just don't know how to get back on track! :-(
Oh and part two of this is I thought midnight-midnight was good cuz of 3rd
shift and all. I figured I get off at 6 get home at 6:30 so am usually in
bed by 8ish maybe 9 during the school year if hubby doesn't take Marcella to
school. But it seems I run out of daily points too soon.. So maybe I need to
change when I want my new days to start I don't know. I know it can be
anytime as long as it is a 24 hour period.
Ok thanks for letting me vent...
Annie,
You *always* want to eat at least your daily points! If you don't, your body
goes into starvation mode and thinks your body isn't getting enough and
holds onto the extra pounds.
Just because that lady is eating only 18 points that doesn't mean you
should.
That's why we take the points quiz. It is specifically designed for our
weight, height, activity level...Some will have some more, some less, but
you need to eat what *yours* said...
As to the weeklies, some need to eat those too in order to lose. I find I
have the best losses the weeks I eat all my dailies and most of my weeklies.
Once I tried to eat my activity points too and didn't do as good.
As to NS I am glad you didn't do it. That was the first diet I tried after
being diagnosed with diabetes. But one thing it is *so* expensive. You have
to buy all their foods *plus* the grocery store add ins, it doesn't leave
room for leeway, and after awhile all the food started tasting the same to
me. One time I looked at the panty and just cried thinking of eating one
more serving of it! So I got out of that.
