Hi Gang,
Well I saw both the radiologist and the oncologist this week. The Mets(
that is what they call the crap on the brain) has gone down. The radiation
will continue to work for the next few months so they will do another MRI
in the beginning of October.

I will start chemo some time next week. They want to see about putting a
port in first. I will have chemo one week and be off 3 weeks. They will
do this for 2 months and then do a ct on the chest to see how it is working.
Looks like I will not know much more till October then whey test me again.

For now I am tired---I poop out pretty early. Take naps not at all like
me. Guess I may have over done on the cruise. So in the mean time it is
just rest. They do want me to walk if I can in the mornings to help get the
circulation back into my calves and feet.

My feet are back to normal but the bod and face are still puffy. The
timing for the chemo looks like it will interfere with the air races--- :( I
might have to miss this year.

Hope all of you are well.
Huggs and love--

Great thing to choose - but it's supposed to be about how you can find solutions to your problems using what you're good at. I know it's easier to find where we make mistakes - there are fewer times we make mistakes - but what are your skills?

> So... My other downfall is I was still adjusting to my new hours-

I wouldn't say it's a downfall - I'd say it's a skill you have to learn that none of the rest of us have. I do have a friend who works varying shifts as a nurse in a hospital and is also on WW so I'll ask her today how she adjusts when the shhedule changes. But it's a skill you have that we don't!

So there's two skills right there - first that you're willing to work varying shifts and second that you can adjust to the different shifts.

> During the school year I never saw my daughter! I was
> still in bed when my husband was getting her off to school,

Oh, another gift you have is a great daughter and supportive husband - I think about how your husband Bob has done such kind things for you and how crazy you are about your daughter. So what a great support system you have - is there any way you can think to make it work for you when you change shifts?

I recall at one of my WW meetings, we were asking for some coping skills to some problem - don't recall what it was - and a mother with a four year old said she told her daughter when she got home that mommie just needed 10 minutes without being bothered to get her head screwed on right - so she set an alarm for the child - and the child could see just how long it was until she could pester mom about her doll's head or something.

Not sure how long you've got that you need to keep track of - but can you ask your daughter to help you to remember to set a kitchen timer - a loud one! At school, does your daugher have bells tochange classes? I'm pretty hopeless at how school run nowadayas! Sometimes we have a sense what time it is and keep checking the clock, but how would she remind herself?

> "OMG I have to leave for work in 20 minutes and I have

> like that that I can just grab...

We've all been in those situations - as much as I think I have to pack everything before I go to bed, sometimes I just don't feel like it. So obviously one solution is to pack it before you go to bed - that's what I always told myself, too.

But we're focusing on ybeing your cheerleader - waht do you do well? Care for your family? Ask for help when you need it?

> before this shift that I'm working
> now, when I got home from the prior one, I sat down and made myself a list
> of what I wanted to bring that way no D-Day panic OMG what to bring and I
> was able to make much much healthier choices ths time.

Ah, see, you figured it out? You had the skills yourself! So add that as a skill you have. Part of being a cheerleader is to ask for help but also to figure out for yourself what works for you.

Another skill might be to actually experience when you fail and ask us for help - thought that was a problem? No, a skill - and one I need to practice more. Your solution to your problem actually helped me on mine - I had a dog show yesterday so would be there all day with no options except a snack bar that's NOT WW friendly.

So knowing when you fail and asking for help is a skill.

Great job!

Before and During,
Last year, the summer of 2008 I vacationed at my Lake Cottage in North East PA. The mountains there are beautiful and the neighbors are like one big family. Weighing 413 pounds I had to enjoy the annual baseball game from a sitting position. I had always watched that game, never participated.

I could hardly walk more than a few feet without assistance, and even with assistance I was out of breath quickly. People cattered to me like I was handicaped. I was.

The last time I saw any of them was 11 months ago. Not even one of my friends or neighbors knows that I joined Weight Watchers when I came home from the Lake last year.

Since they last saw me I have lost -135.2 pounds.

I am going to video record their reactions to my weight loss and I will post that video right here on this page when I return. I will have those videos posted to this page by August 26th when I return.

Right now there are two sets of photos on this page which reflect what they last saw compared to what they will see now.

Wish me luck!

I have to be very careful about buying shoes....I LOVE my crocs....and don't care what my kids say because they are my feet and not my kids...I just bought a new pr. of asics and really like them..I save my $$ until I can buy Finns.  they are really pricy but I have never had a sore foot with them.  I have had problems with my feet every since I was born it seems...I have boxes for feet short and wide.

Ran 12.67 miles with my running classes! I coach people to their first 5k,
10k, half marathon, or marathon. So ran 2.6 with the 5k class (almost to 5k)
and then 10 with my marathon/10k/half class! Good times!

OK. I am really excited to rejoin. I have practiced a version of weight watchers since I was pregnant and gestational diabetic...but now I can't wait to get back to meetings and the plan...I am a WW junky. LOL - I think it is the control I have over myself with WW.

My question is this - i have the opportunity to buy the monthly pass. What are your thoughts on it?

Thanks,
Jenni

LOVE the monthly pass!
Best price-- no registration fee-- you can attend unlimited meetings
and free e-tools!
What's not to love!?!?!
Plus in most areas, they are starting a great special on August 30,
where you buy your first month of the monthly pass and get the second
month FREE!
This is for all members who aren't currently on the monthly pass (new
or existing members).
Congrats and good luck on having your baby!

Jenni,

I love the monthly pass! It is great because you have the meetings plus the
message boards.

You get so much support. I did WW once then for financial reasons had to
stop the monthly pass and I just wasn't able to do it on my own so hubby
told me to rejoin and we would find a way to make it work.

My hubby is so great and supportive!

If any of you are looking for a great price on shoes, I have purchased from
here quite a few times and they regularly send me emails with these
discounts. They provide free shipping both ways. My mom has "prescribed"
New Balance 811s that regularly go for $80+ and she got a great price here.
Especially when you know a certain style and size fit. just thought I'd
share this email.

12a. Great Day
Posted by: "CLAUDIA" clewing1953@sbcglobal.net clewing1953@sbcglobal.net
Date: Sat Aug 22, 2009 7:52 pm ((PDT))

What a wonderful Saturday, and it's not over with-my friend Cindy is
still here.

I slept in late, and knowing I had a lunch date I didn't eat
breakfast-bad, I know, but I only had like an hour after I woke up and
when I left to go meet a friend (Janet) for lunch. Another friend
(Cindy) came in from a nearby town and went too. We went to a Chinese
restaurant-I had been soooo hungry for Chinese, and both of my friends
like it, too. I made very wise choices, avoiding fried foods and
sticking with chicken and lots of vegetables. We sat and talked and
drank ice tea (no sugar, just lemon) for over two hours. Then we said
goodbye to Janet, and Cindy and I went and got pedicures and
manicures. The place we go really pampers you. Stopped at the store
for fresh veggies and some burgers. My husband grilled burgers, dogs
and hot links for him, our son and Cindy, and Laura (daughter who is
on Weight Watchers, too) and I made a huge chef salad (sliced ham and
turkey, low fat cheese, avocado) with fat free or (for me) low
fat-fell in love with Ken's Steak House Low-Fat Northern Italian
dressing. One point for 2 tablespoons. We also had a glass of wine. I
dipped into my weekly points, but that's what they are there for,
right? First time since my birthday July 29 since I had dipped into
weekly points. Then, Cindy gave us our birthday presents (first time
since she had seen us since July 29, and that is also my husband's
birthday).

Gonna go now, Cindy had to make a phone call but she's off and we are
going to watch a movie.
