Hi,

Me too, I fell off the wagon and put back on 25 lbs. I guess that's
still better than gaining the whole thing again. We can certainly support each
other daily. You are correct it is so hard to lose weight.

Hi Angela,

I'm a receptionist at WW in Corpus Christi, TX. I'm headed off to leader training next week. The other staff members give me "the business" about being the token male...

I don't know about Montreal Quebec, but in this part of the world you just don't have a better bunch of people to support you. All of us have had our chalenges- myself included.

Let me tell you a story about one of our members. She's 4'11" tall, and she came into the center about 2 months ago for a meeting (first time I met her). When it was over, she bought something (I don't remember what), and she handed me her credit card. It was one of those cards that had her picture on it. I didn't recognize her. Half jokingly I asked if that was really her, and did I need to see a drivers liscense. She laughed and told me that picture wasn't any better. She looked like a completely different person. She and her brother are both members here, and after they left I pulled up her weight history on the computer. I was stunned- she had lost almost 110 lbs in just about a year. She's now 4 lbs. away from her goal weight. She's been working on losing those last 4 lbs. for 3 months now, and slowly but surely it's coming off. When she's done, she'll have lost about 115 lbs.

Every time she comes in and I weigh her, even if she only loses a few tenths of a pound, she'll flash the biggest smile you ever saw and say, "that much closer to goal!"

When she gets to her goal weight, I'll be a leader and I'll be doing the meeting she goes to. She's an absolute inspiration to me personally. The day will come soon when I have the honor to present her with her lifetime award, and you know what? This 6'1" 170 lb. man is probably gonna have to wipe a tear away when he does.

I know it's tough. It was tough for me, and women seem to have it a little tougher. Take it one step at a time. Don't expect miracles right away. You didn't gain the weight overnight, and you won't lose it overnight either. You have friends that care at WW.

Tom

Hi all
I am off the same wagon. I have had some life threatening events since Feb. I was diagnoised with breast cancer and since then WW has gone out the door. LOL. But actually with the horrible chemo treatments I have lost some weigh. But I need to get myself back on track!! So I have set my goal again and pulling off some recipes!!

Could you please share some recipes and ideas to get me motivated again. I started back in November and I have lost 17 pounds and made it into the 100s. LOL And was feeling much better about myself!

3.1. Need cheering up
Posted by: "CLAUDIA" clewing1953@sbcglobal.net clewing1953@sbcglobal.net
Date: Tue Aug 11, 2009 6:17 am ((PDT))

After being almost PERFECT on WW this week (not going over points one
time, eating all I should most days-I do have a problem with milk, but
take calcium supplements) I gained 1.2 pounds.

I know, I know, temporary setback. I am retaining fluid this morning.
I ate a couple salty items yesterday, and had a couple tomatoes with
salt. And, even with all the fiber and water (I drink a half-gallon
mug of water daily, plus other liquids), I am having a little problem
going to the bathroom. So, today I'm pulling the watermelon I got
Saturday out of the cooler and pigging out on that. It normally
remedies both of those problems (and it tastes so good!!!), and look
forward to a great weigh in next week.

Claudia,

I know how frustrating, disappointing, and to be honest - how upsetting it
is to be almost perfect and show a gain or no loss at all. I've been there!

I also know that if I keep it up, a big loss is on the way. I have had
"perfect" weeks and gained and honestly been so upset I just gave myself
over to the emotional eating. Sometimes it has caused me to quit going to
meetings for a month at a time (I'm on the monthly pass).

I have learned that if I just hang in there - go to the meetings and weigh
in - I will learn my weight loss pattern. Some people have a pattern of
small, small, small, big, none, small, gain, small, small, big, and so on.
LOL. I haven't weighed in consistently for a while, so I need to relearn my
pattern.

You are doing a great job - so keep working at it!!

Hi Claudia! I'm so sorry you ended up with a gain instead of a loss. It must be so upsetting, since you did so well during the week. Makes you just want to quit, I know. BUT, don't quit, hang in there. We all have a weird way with the scales. For instance, I have an every other week style - one week, I have lost 4 pounds, the next week, I have lost 0.8 pounds, the next week, I have lost 4.6 pounds, the next week, I've lost 0.8 pounds. And I essentially eat the same things each week. Who knows why the scales does this to us? But hang in there, a loss WILL show up, and it will be a big loss. Keep on tracking, and keep ON TRACK. The pounds WILL come off. You are a winner! The scales each week are screwy, and they may take an extra week to catch up to where you are. Hang in there!!!!

4a. A New Way to Eat Veggies

Here is something I just tried that was so good I had to share. I can't take
the credit though, it was on the back of the bag my Sugar Snap Peas came in.

Anyway I did it with them, but I imagine it would work with just about any
veggie.

You open the bag (only I used a Ziplock bag cuz I had tore up the original
bag too much) and then spray some spray butter in it and then take a tbsp of
taco seasoning and add it and then close the bag and shake it up till
everything's coated. It was *so* good!

First of all - Google "Chair Workouts" or go to YouTube and find some. They
have several workouts on You Tube that can be done for people who are having
any kind of leg problems! I hope that will help you some!

Have they not ordered an MRI? X-rays don't always show cartilage injuries.
I'm surprised they haven't offered a cortisone shot as well. I had a knee
injury back in April, and when the pain/inflammation wouldn't go away, I got
an MRI which showed inflammation - but nothing torn thank goodness. I got a
cortisone shot for the inflammation, and it is SO much better now!

Hang in there with the ice packs and IBS.  I have had that and the first thing we have to do is get the inflamation down. I know it is a pain not to exercise but just keep following the food plan and the exercise will follow.

Go get a 2nd opinion! If you're still in pain and they aren't helping, go see an orthopedist. Good luck :)

I did go to the doctor and had xrays and all. nothing wrong with it they say but no exercise, ice it 3 times a day and 3 ibs 3 times a day. I am at such a loss as what to do. this has been over a month and they are telling me not to come back for a month and only if it is not better. any advice?

I use a waist pack made to hold a water bottle:
http://www.rei.com/product/782322

<http://www.rei.com/product/782322>This is the one I like the best. The pack
up front can carry a lot of stuff, including my little portable speaker set
for when I do my bootcamp classes (I play music and they follow me as we run
down the road and stop and do exercises, so if they want music they have to
try to keep up).

Thank you Jen. I didn't realize it was still on the Weight Watchers site!
That was a GREAT weekend. They flew me to New York, did the whole makeup and
photoshoot thing. I felt like a STAR! Plus everyone there was SO nice.
That's part of the reason you might see me show up in a magazine every now
and again. Once you're a success story they will contact you every year, get
an official weigh in, and then send your story out. I think they like to
hear stories of people who have not only lost it, but kept it off.
Six years and counting at my goal weight!

I got them on and zipped, but they are still a ways from what I would consider "wearable". It's still a big NSV for me though, as one month ago they didn't even go past my hips. I'm down a total of 8.2 since the baby.

hello guys,
I have been reading all your posts for several weeks now while i have been doing ww on my own again. I have been on it going on my third week. I have lost 2 lbs and an inch in my waist, hips, thighs, and even 2 inch in my boobs, a little depressing losing in that area. but anyways... i now weight 148.5 on my 5 foot nothing frame and i think its time for a little more encouragment and help... I dont want to join a meeting till i lose 10% of my start weight. so 13lbs to go. I started working out lightly last week(total of 11 activity points) but im going to start doing a lot of cardio this week. any advice to make the weight drop of quicker. I am taking in 21 pts a day and using about half of my weekly allowed points every week.

But I do have a question, since last year when I was a member. they have came up with the momentum program. what makes it different than the regular points system? I'm not sure if i am allowed to ask that here or not. If not ill call our local people and ask them.

Congrats on your scale and inches loss so far!

We cannot discuss the program itself on this board. I suggest going to a Weight Watchers meeting so you can get the Momentum program information first hand--much more accurate that way. =)
