I want to apologize about yesterday

Hi hope you're doing well,

I want to apologize…you see yesterday the "Secrete Society" was launched and the server was slammed because so many people were trying to access the sales page.

Most of you could not even access the page and sent me emails begging to get in. The hosting company said the server practically melted from the load! Well today is a new day and I've been told the server has been revamped so…

(Go here if you've missed it): http://www.BlackHatWorld.com/secretesociety

I'm CRAZY proud of this program... because Frank REALLY is the true deal and knows a lot more than most of the so called guru's do.

It's pretty damn clear... there is A LOT of killer findings inside... stuff NO ONE knows about. I'm not going to say anymore the program speaks for itself.

Only 200 members of Black Hat World are allowed to get into Secret Society Coaching for $7 through this link….

http://www.BlackHatWorld.com/secretesociety

This is being sent to nearly 60k people so you better move fast and get in now before all 200 slots fill up or the link auto expires within hours and the price goes up.

PS: The server might get slammed again so sign up fast: http://www.BlackHatWorld.com/secretesociety

Take Care,

Diamond Dave

Hello all,
actually i do read all your messages to know more but i find that my reply ain't adding more to it hopefully after one year or so i will get all the experience to reply and for all the new comers askin if they should do the surgery or not, it actually depends on how old are they and how many times did they try the diet and failed and how long should it take to reach the ideal weight in my case i had morbid obesity which was affecting my knees and my work and my emotional life too i can tell tht i loved food more than anything was the only thing that makes me happy and can't deny that when i 1st heard of that surgeries i said ph god no i won't do it how can i be like tht with abnormal stomach and can't eat wht i want so now u know to how extent i love food lol
but i reached tht it's really disturbing everything in my life and my life had to go on and go on properly it took me like one and half year consulting a lot of doctors and thinking about it then i reached a point tht i want to see my self thin for once in my life even if it was the last thing i am going to do i want to feel like wht thin people feel i deserve that and you also deserve it so think about it again and again and wht i did just before my last decision i gave myself 6 months trial if i really could stick on a diet for that period then i won't do the surgery but happened wht i was expecting tht i didn't even continue for 2 month so give urself a trial and put it in your mind u r going to change something permenantly (actually i dun't feel anything diffrent now excpet when i come to eat i think tht is the penalty of all the times i started to eat non stop i already ate what a normal man can eat thru his entire life while i am still 27). in all cases i wish u all good luck and i want to ask about something,Now i have lost about 42 lbs ( i was about 291 lbs now i am 249 lbs) in about 2 and half months i still sometimes vomit but i am much worried about the extra skin which i will have for sure so i wanted to ask who had this experience What after one year from the surgery does it get any better or do exercise make any diffrence or the absolute solution is the tummy tuck surgery and other plastic surgeries as well i still didn't execise i am still not sure if i am able now to start abs and get a personal trainer thats when we put into consideration tht i didn't use larproscopy in my surgery so it's an open surgery

Thanks,
Engy.

I'm 15 months out and have lost almost 165 lbs. I frequently have pain or vomiting after eating. I wouldn't worry unless the pain became unbearable or didn't go away. Good luck with your journey!!

Is this because of eating too much or the wrong things?  I am about 2 months from having the surgery and have been lurking, but I don't want to be sick all the time.  I love to eat and I know I am gonna have to work on portion control, etc. but having a lot of pain and vomiting concerns me...thoughts??

Many of us experience very little pain and NO vomiting. There's no
guarantee that you'll be sick all the time, some of the time, or
never. Just do exactly what your surgeon's practice tells you to do.
They, after all, understand the mechanics of digestion and how those
mechanics change with the surgical procedure.

I chose gastric bypass rather than lap band because there would be
negative consequences to bad eating - I wanted that penalty, because
all the intellectualizing and rationalizing and such never kept me
from eating badly. The potential for negative consequences, I
figured, would help me keep eating correctly.

I was right.

Yes I believe this is what its from. I was having pain and vomiting but then realized it was because I had to slow down. I'm not a fast eater, however life is soooooo busy I tend to make a meal and eat while I work or on the go. This doesn't work for me. You just have to follow the rules.. I'm not having that problem anymore. Good luck with your surgery. Sara

When you have tried all of the pills all of the diets, you have trouble breathing your back hurts or knees or ankles or hips. your sugar is up every day, you buy clothes with signs that say larger sizes $2.00 extra or you would rather buy online so noone can see you. Or people stare and point, or you have trouble fitting into a doorway or a booth at a resturant. When your always tired. When walking up stairs is like climbing a mountian, when playing with kids is like running a race. When you sit in you car and the sterring wheel rubs against your belly. When you get pulled over for not wearing your seatbelt and you tell the officer that your to "FAT" and it won't fit and instead of making you try he walks away.

Just some of my reasons. for weight loss seight loss surgery

Dumping is also caused by eating too fast, not chewing enough or not cutting your food small enough.

It's not fun, but it sure does help program you to change your habits.

I am 20 months out from RNY and have lost almost 100 pounds. I am
still loosing - about 1-3 pounds per month. I sometimes had pain
after I ate for the first 8 months. Often it was when I ate too
quickly or did not chew very thoroughly. There were a few foods that
bothered me even if I ate them slowly. A year later I still have to
eat slowly and chew well. Thankfully it has become natural for me to
eat this way. Some foods I just stay away from.

Perhaps if you take things slowly and listen to your body, you may
have less pain. I hope my solution is helpful for you.

Erika

I have just passed my 1 year anniversary date 9/11/09. I am proud to say I started at 230 and have lost 93 pounds. I am now 137 which is 7 pounds from my goal.
At my 1 year check-up my doctor stated that he was very impressed with my dedication in particular my 5-6 day a week 90 minute workout routine. I too have about 4 small meals a day and 2 snacks. I found that keeping track of what I was eating helped when I did experience cramps from certain foods and / or extreme gas. i.e. chicken when not chewed properly, some sauces especially dairy based caused my stomach cramps. I was lactose intolerant prior to WLS so dairy can especially cause me gas and too many carbs. When I do experience these discomforts Pepcid Complete has been the most effective. Abstinence from these foods is of course the ultimate solution but I know that I do suffer as most of us to my visual and mental addiction to food. My stomach's new adversion to these foods as greatly assisted me in more continual resisting my urges. Our new lifestyle is trial and error at first but in time as in Vic's case it becomes our new way of life.

I had gbs rny 4 months ago and went from 233 to 165 very happy about that however, I'm struggling with stomach cramps after some meals. The only way I could feel better was to make myself throw up. I know that is not the answer, so I have started really slowing down, watching and recording what I eat to try to find a pattern. I do not over eat, but it may be the type of food that is making me cramp. Let me know if you figure it out and keep a food diary. Sara

I had gastral bypass surgery 5 months ago now and have lost over 125lbs. I weigh at 160lbs now and weighed 285lbs the day of my surgery. I have been experiencing stomach cramps so often that it is very uncomfortable for me at times. Has anyone else experience this and can give me some advice? My physician prescribed me some medicine along with previcet, but it is over $380 and I can not afford it.. I go back to the doctor tomorrow morning and hope they can give me something else... Does anyone have any advice for me tonight? I would appreciate it...

Hello Friends,
It's good to see this support group "come to life" again. It's been so quiet. I had my 6 month follow-up visit at NY Presbyterian Hospital on 9/10/2009 and my actual 6 months will be in 2 days. I am just amazed how much I've lost (72 lbs) and the changes in my life. My Mom tells me how impressed she is by my dedication. I walk at least 30 minutes 6 & sometimes 7 days. I eat 4 small meals per day & 2 snacks. I track ALL of my food, focusing on the protein however our group dietician suggested I also watch the calories.
I had a different type of WLS then most of you. It's called TOGA & I'm part of a clinical trial. I'm very grateful (& blessed) to be selected for this clinical trial as I always said I'd never have WLS b/c I didn't want to have surgery. The surgeon created my pouch using a new device (TOGA) and going down my esophagus.
I'd love to hear how everyone else is doing.
re: Fear of WLS - I agree with those who suggested prayer and research. I've been obese for most of my life. When I had WLS, I weighed 260 lbs and I'm 5'4". WLS was the best thing that ever happened to me! I now weigh 188 and I haven't been in "ONEderland" in many years.

No one can make that decision for you. You have to pray about it and if you feel that you have peace over it, go for it. I had mine done 3 years ago and went from a size 26 that was too tight, to a 1 or 2, so I would go back and do it all over again tomorrow. There is always a chance of complications, but that is with any surgery. I wish you the best and keep us posted..

No one can tell you whether you should have the any WLS or not, but it is
always good to be informed and look at your options. Years ago, we didn't
have so many options, it was either the RNY or the DS. I researched both
and felt the DS was the best surgery for me. Now, someone on our chatline
had a different type of RNY surgery that seems to be much more less
invasive, and I have friends that had a great deal of success with the Vgb
(sic) -- the belt. So, do as much research as possible and decide what is
best for you. I found a site for the DS surgery called the DS Zone - I
don't know if it is still there, but the name of my surgery is Bilio
Pancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch otherwise known as BPD/DS or just
DS.

I chose DS because I was 45 y ears old - had already had 2 heart attacks,
had a fatty liver that was in danger of going into failure, was Type II
Diabetic, and had water on both knees that I was having removed from one or
the other every 6-8 weeks. Frankly, I felt like I was dying a little every
day.

Because I'd already had two heart attacks I was afraid of the RNY because of
the dumping syndrome that can sometimes cause heart palpitations - that was
scary for me. I had the surgery 01-21-02 and never looked back. I
weighed 276 pounds and I am 5 ft 3 ins. I lost over 158 pounds down to 118
and then settled on about 124 for quite a long time. When I was 49 years
old my oldest daughter got married and I saw the wedding pictures - I looked
very gaunt as I was wearing a size 6, some 4s, and 8 petites. I purposely
gained 20 pounds and now stay around 143 pounds. I wear a regular size 8 or
10, and even some size 12s depending on how they are made. But, I look good
and feel good for a 53 year old grandmother of four.

The good news is that by losing the weight - my liver went back to normal -
my diabetes is completely gone - my knees are great. I can run, get on the
floor and roll around playing with my grandkids (i8, 3, 2, and 5 mos.). I
will always have heart disease but so far there have been no changes since
the last heart attack when I was 45. It definitely improved my quality of
life and gave me more years to enjoy. I truly feel I would never have
survived without the surgery. For me - it was the right decision.

My oldest daughter is 30 years old - 5 ft tall - weighs around 300 pounds.
She has the 3 yr. old and just had our 5 mo. Old grandson as a high risk
pregnancy with gestational diabetes. She has opted not to have any type of
surgery. She wears a size 26 and can barely get up and down from the floor.
I cried when she told me she was planning on getting pregnant with the
second baby because I feared for her life and the baby's. But, I have never
pressured her - she is aware of the different surgeries and risks. It is,
after all, her life. But, don't think that I don't pray daily that she will
do something about her weight. I am terrified for her future especially
because she is so young and unhealthy, and of course, I love her.

But, again, we all have to make our own decisions. Frankly, the DS also
allows me to have chocolate and the occasional McDonalds cheeseburger and
fries without worries about dumping. So, for me - it was the right surgery.

Research, talk to folks on this chatline. Lurk and learn - search the
internet. Pray on it. You'll know when you are ready or able to make a
decision. In the meantime - God Bless and Good Luck on your journey -
whatever you decide.

only you can decide if surgery is for you. you are at risk for blood clots at your weight. Not sure what you mean by 'complications'. Such things are not usual. I had RNY and have no 'complications'. RNY changes the way your body works, and you must learn to work with that if you want to succeed after surgery. You can no longer eat massive amounts at one sitting, can't chug liquids, must chew well and eat slowly, must watch the quality of what you eat, no more junk food, closely watch your sugar, fat and alcohol intake. But all of that is quite livable and I'd say worth the effort.

What is your alternative if you continue at your current weight? That's the real question you must ask yourself.

I can tell you it was the best thing I did. I am newly post op. I had surgery on the Aug 24th. I was never in any major pain. Matter of fact I took pain meds in the hospital stay on top of it but I was never above a 2 on the pain scale.  And 3 weeks out I feel fine. Like nothing ever happened to me.  I have been swimming and walking.  I was about 160 over weight also, and already down 31lbs.

I know every story is different but I truely know for me it was the best thing.

Good luck!!!

I was in exactly your place seven months ago. Today, after RNY at the
end of December 2008, I'm down 110+ pounds, wearing nice clothes,
feeling pretty for the first time in my life, and enjoying more
energy than I have in many years. But more important, I'm healthier,
too, than I have been since perhaps the 1970s.

Blood pressure meds are gone: my once-high BP is now down to a calm,
steady 122 or thereabouts. Cholesterol's down from 240 to 170.
Besides the BP meds being gone, so are one of my two asthma meds, and
costly Nexium for the GERD I don't have any more.

I'm grateful for the support of this group; to my surgeons and their
support staff; and to those who managed to face their fears and dare
to have this procedure, setting an example of courage and success for
me to follow.

Please keep talking about your fears, but talk about your hopes and
dreams, too. Only you can (and should) make the decision for you, but
others are here, and in your community, to support you on your
journey.

Lisa:

I hate to burst your expectations, but at 10+ years post op (RNY) I still have days when I am actively an overeater. It's not every day, but it happens often. I graze and eat small portions at set meal times, but endeavor to do so wisely. I believe that is my best defense against the 'devil inside' that makes me feel so deprived that I must feed myself almost constantly.

Aside from 'emotional overeating, I theorize that my pouch is what causes me to feel hungry. I just don't feel full very long, it's physically impossible. So, in my opinion, it's something to be dealt with head on.

The good news is, your surgery is an excellent tool for doing fighting back, it gives you a tremendous 'edge' through malabsorption and drastically increased success when you do try to 'diet', much more so than before surgery.

My 2 cents,

I WILL continue to follow my food plan and exercise daily. (I hurt my left food the other day and I didn't exercise today. It actually felt strange not walking ;-)

Thanks for your response Vic.
I've been a compulsive overeater all of my life. I used my post just like I'd use sharing in an AA meeting. "Telling on myself" helps me see which behaviors I need to work on. I agree my pouch is a tool & so is this support group.
I shared b/c I was worried that eating more would stretch my pouch & also b/c I found myself falling back into old habits. Since I shared, I find myself more conscious of what I'm eating, when I'm eating, etc. I also increased my protein to 80-100 gms per day and I'm focused on making sure fat content stays below 25%.

I believe one thing we all can do in life is be kinder to ourselves, we tend to be overly critical of ourselves. I think that is because we think other people are always thinking critical thoughts about us, and we want to be appreciated in the eyes of others.

What is ironic about that is, most people are busy thinking the same thing, and not being critical and concerned about us. If they verbalize such thinking, they are acting in a defensive manner out of their own lack of self-esteem, too bad for them. They need to work on that.

So we might more often cut ourselves a break when we start thinking we haven't quite met goals we set for ourselves. Does that make sense? What I'm trying to say is be flexible, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again.

Stephanie,
Congratulations on taking action. You CAN get through this. Remember, you only need to do this one day at a time. If one day is too much, do it one hour and if that's too much then one minute at a time. The principals are the same whether you are recovering from compulsive overeating, alcoholism or drug addiction.

I eat 4 small meals per day & 2 snacks per day. At least one of the meals is a LUNA or South Beach protein bar or Myoplex/Muscle Milk Lite protein shake w/ skim milk. I also walk at least 30 minutes per day.

2. Old Habits die hard

Hello Friends,
I had my WLS on 3/25/2009 and I'm almost 6 months out. I am losing weight steadily, with a total of 67 lbs to date. As I posted before, I had a new type of WLS using a TOGA device (TOGA is transoral gastroplasty) and they created a pouch by inserting the device through my esophagus.
In the 1st few months, I struggled with the compulsive overeater "in my head" that told me I could eat like I used to but that wasn't possible as I can only eat 1 cup of food or liquids. I've learned to ignore the overeater and follow a food plan as recommended by the dietician. I noticed a few days ago, that I'm starting to eat more frequently when I'm supposed to eat every 4 hours. My food plan calls for small meals or snacks (4 small meals & 2 snacks) that are high protein & less then 25% fat. I also try to eat less carbs and I exercise daily- at least 20-30 minutes per day.
Just needed to share these thoughts as I don't want the overeater to take over again. I am thrilled with my progress and looking forward to my 6 month follow-up visit next week with the surgeon & dietician. I've gone from barely fitting into a size 24 to a size 20! I understand that I eat in reaction to feelings, stress and/or just because I love to eat. (I've also been a recovering alcoholic & addict for 21 years, with no relapses). I WILL continue to follow my food plan and exercise daily. (I hurt my left food the other day and I didn't exercise today. It actually felt strange not walking ;-)
Enjoy the Labor Day Weekend!
Thanks for listening. I'd be interested in hearing how others quieted the overeater "in their head".

I have been lactose intolerant for about 14 years; since I turned 30. I don't really drink milk except now that I make protein smoothies to help with energy for my morning workouts. I have been using Lactaid milk and just started using SmartBalance latose-free milk. Yogurt and cottage cheese are fine with me.
The protein powder I use also helps with lactose intolerance Unjury. www.unjury.com
It is somewhat pricey but very high quality protein; 20g per serving and the unflavored can be mixed into anything. Especially great for those whom have just had surgery and trying to get in enough protein each day.

I also had complications.  I was in recovery after my surgery and had to be rushed back in to surgery.  I was bleeding out internally and had lost 3 pints of blood before they realized it.  I was in ICU for several days and in a regular room for 3 days.  I also had had a stricture that the doctor had to dilate on August 6th.  I know how you are feeling!  Hang in there because it DOES get better. Just take it one day at a time and you will be feeling better before you know it!!

I've not had complications, but am writing to send you good vibes and prayers for your speedy recovery. Please find comfort that you did get help. You will heal and soon forget your pain. Where there is life, there is hope.

I have lactose intolerance since surgery, too (10 years ago). it has eased up a bunch, but i can't eat ice cream or tolerate more than a 1/4 cup of milk or yogurt at a time. Cheese is ok, tho.

Everytime I have milk I get sick.  I thought it was just me, glad to know that I am not the only one with that problem.  But I can give up milk.  I am 3 years post surgery and I have lost 155 pounds in total, I have gone from a size 26 that was too tight to a size 1 - 2 depending on the clothes.  I think I can do without milk for that.  Lots of luck to everyone.

I have enough milk to wet my cereal and when I am done I dump the excess.  I can handle that with no problems.

Thanks Chelsea.

I am reading that I may not be able to tolerate milk...I love cereal and don't know if I could give that up - I guess if it makes me throw up I would, but I would miss it.

I'm glad you are doing so well - it is very encouraging.  I am in the pre-approval stage and hoping I can get the surgery sometime in December!

I am having trouble with milk too.  My dietictian told me to try the genasoy for protien.  Yesterday I got enough protien.  I'm trying to do everything I'm supposed to do.

Hi There:

Just picking up my emails now so I'm a little late. When I first had the
surgery - I struggled with getting in enough water and protein. I tried
several different powdered protein drinks until I found one that I could
tolerate. Believe I found it at GNC. I mixed it with water and just sipped
all day. I made myself take sips every 5-10 mins. I was able to get in
protein and the water I needed so I didn't become hydrated. I ate every 2
hours - even if it was just a few bites. It seemed to work for me. Please
give it a try and don't despair - you are not alone. We have all been
there.

Hi everyone.

I am struggling to get in my 64 oz of water daily and to eat. I am 18 days
out from RNY.

My doctor sent me back to the hospital because he said I was dehydrated and
needed an IV.

How do you manage to get in enough water? How do you eat, even just two
bites, when you are not hungry?

I am feeling like a failure. I don't know why I can't get the requirements
in my body. I have even become lactose intolerant since surgery.

Has anyone else had this trouble?

Thanks!

Teresa
