Everytime I have milk I get sick. I thought it was just me, glad to know that I am not the only one with that problem. But I can give up milk. I am 3 years post surgery and I have lost 155 pounds in total, I have gone from a size 26 that was too tight to a size 1 - 2 depending on the clothes. I think I can do without milk for that. Lots of luck to everyone.

I have enough milk to wet my cereal and when I am done I dump the excess. I can handle that with no problems.

Thanks Chelsea.
I am reading that I may not be able to tolerate milk...I love cereal and don't know if I could give that up - I guess if it makes me throw up I would, but I would miss it.
I'm glad you are doing so well - it is very encouraging. I am in the pre-approval stage and hoping I can get the surgery sometime in December!

I am just over a year out and am down 160 lbs. I can eat or drink anything SLOWLY and have never had dumping syndrome. Good luck on what is a life changing journey.

I am having trouble with milk too. My dietictian told me to try the genasoy for protien. Yesterday I got enough protien. I'm trying to do everything I'm supposed to do.

Hi There:
Just picking up my emails now so I'm a little late. When I first had the
surgery - I struggled with getting in enough water and protein. I tried
several different powdered protein drinks until I found one that I could
tolerate. Believe I found it at GNC. I mixed it with water and just sipped
all day. I made myself take sips every 5-10 mins. I was able to get in
protein and the water I needed so I didn't become hydrated. I ate every 2
hours - even if it was just a few bites. It seemed to work for me. Please
give it a try and don't despair - you are not alone. We have all been
there.

Subject: [After Weight Loss Surgery] Can't drink/eat enough
Hi everyone.
I am struggling to get in my 64 oz of water daily and to eat. I am 18 days
out from RNY.
My doctor sent me back to the hospital because he said I was dehydrated and
needed an IV.
How do you manage to get in enough water? How do you eat, even just two
bites, when you are not hungry?
I am feeling like a failure. I don't know why I can't get the requirements
in my body. I have even become lactose intolerant since surgery.
Has anyone else had this trouble?
Thanks!
Teresa
