Hi Julie,

One thing I read is that "my bf is very supportive but also lets me slack at
times". This is something that you have to do for yourself and you can't
count on or expect other people to police you. That said, if you still need
someone to email I'd be happy to help.

Hugs,

Babette

Subject: [Serious-Weight-Watchers] Getting Desperate

Hey guys,
I have been reading everyone's posts and want to say congrats to all those
who are having success and keep working at it to those who have hit that
bump in the road. Well my bump seems to be turning into a hill and I want to
stop it before it becomes a mountain. I was just wondering if someone would
sort of be a one on one buddy for me. Keeping me accountable every day by
checking in and reporting food intake and exercise. I am more than willing
to do the same for someone else. I just need the extra push to keep my
weight loss going.

I was doing WW on my own for 4 weeks and lost 4 lbs. but last week I didn't
feel well at all so I didn't count for one day. One day turned into two and
then that turned into all week. I'm hopefully gonna start being completely
strict with the points starting tomorrow, being the first of a new month. My
bf is very supportive but also lets me slack at times. I need to completely
make this lifestyle change and make myself into a better person.

My goal short term goal is 140 by oct 1st and 130 by my birthday December
12th. At last weight in last week I weighed in 147.7. I'm going to do a
weight in and measurements tomorrow.
But please can someone help be my guide!
Thanks all,
Julie

I am within my WW range but I want to tweak my eating a little. So tomorrow
I will count points but I am going to eat a little cleaner. Limiting my
carbs to only whole grain and high fiber. Only one freebie a day like a
fiber one bar or something. Lots of fruits, lean meats and dairy and lots of
veggies. I have found in the past that even if I stick within in my points I
find that I don't feel as good as when I eat very well. Anyone else on that
one?

Here is to a new month! Sept 1, what a good starting date.

Carolee

Carolee,

I'm on board with the tweaking. Today I ended up with 4 points at the end of the day. I don't really like eating a lot of stuff late at night, but I can't make a habit of not eating all my daily points, so I need to tweak my day so those points are eaten midday or at breakfast and I'm not hungry during the day.

I'm having trouble with the milk servings. Glasses of milk upset my stomach, I can't eat enough cottage cheese to make it a milk serving (2 cups, or 4 servings!), hard cheeses are even worse than milk (because the milk is Lactaid and the cheeses are not). While I figure it out I'm taking a calcium supplement.

I'll let you know about the feeling good part when I've been OP for a few weeks. I totally expect to have more energy. I'd better!

Here's to all of us having a good month in September!

Nancy in Calif.

I know what you mean Carolee.

It's like if I have points so decide to indulge in a fast food burger. I
ususally feel pretty yucky after.

I know you miss your son right now, but you're gonna love your new found
freedom soon. I remember a couple days after my youngest left 5 years ago
for college, I was having some "weepy" time and my husband says "you know, I
miss him too. now I have to go out and mow the lawn".

You have time to walk now and time to cook whatever you want for dinner. or
not.

Enjoy it, but I know you are really looking forward to his first time home!

Any of you have any 'kids off to college'?
I just got back from dropping off my son...and it seems really strange and
quiet. DH is keeping busy with other things. This is our youngest of 4 so we
are now an empty nest home. The two dogs don't know the difference, yet.
Got to get over the bummer mode and not turn to food while I'm
recouping....good luck to all the smaller households.

Tory,

I'm four for four on your list. I use a CPAP (which I won't give up even if I lose weight, I love that thing!), and have reflux related to a hiatal hernia, which is of course displaced more easily by an overweight abdomen, and I'm really tired of the shortness of breath and foot pain.

I'm going to save your note to remind me what's possible.

Nancy in Calif.

I was lucky not to be on any medications when I started my weight
loss, but I'm sure it was only a matter of time. But I can tell you, I
no longer snore (sleep apnea), I don't have heartburn (have had it
maybe 3x in 6 years), I don't have shortnesss of breath when I walk,
or foot pain at the end of every day. In fact I ran yesterday for
20.25 miles and felt BETTER at the end than I used to at the end of a
normal day teaching.
