There, I didn't think so. You are enjoying life too much now to let that

My only child left for college a couple of weeks ago. It is very strange. He's only about 15 min away, but him not being HERE is weird. I told myself that when he left I would walk on my treadmill more. Wouldn't you know it a storm passed through a week after he moved to the dorms and zapped my treadmill!!! Oh well, hubby is good about getting me out to walk every night. I think it's going to be okay. Good luck to you and may you find something to occupy your time.

Too funny..I think my husband is happy that he finally has his truck to himself again.

I spoke to my son tonight...he stressed that it's only been 2 days and he is fine....

Thanks for the words of support (and I am looking forward to the 1st visit home).
There is some freedom to cooking what you want, or as little....food shopping is going to be more self centered and probably a little more exciting (variety centering on what I like)--not all that bad.

I know you miss your son right now, but you're gonna love your new found
freedom soon. I remember a couple days after my youngest left 5 years ago
for college, I was having some "weepy" time and my husband says "you know, I
miss him too. now I have to go out and mow the lawn".

You have time to walk now and time to cook whatever you want for dinner. or
not.

Enjoy it, but I know you are really looking forward to his first time home!

Any of you have any 'kids off to college'?
I just got back from dropping off my son...and it seems really strange and
quiet. DH is keeping busy with other things. This is our youngest of 4 so we
are now an empty nest home. The two dogs don't know the difference, yet.
Got to get over the bummer mode and not turn to food while I'm
recouping....good luck to all the smaller households.

9.5 minutes on the elliptical cross trainer(killed my legs!!!), 40 mins
on the treadmill and 20 mins of weights. Not sure what happened with
the elliptical, but I just couldn't do anymore???(I've never used one
that had the incline and the elliptical motion before a month ago and
was able to do 10 minutes that time???)
Still earned 4 APs so that was good. Have been OP both yesterday and
today and have only used 4 of my WPAs so far, so that was good. Dr's
scale at physical showed me down 0.8 from yesterday and that was WITH
clothes(I WI at home in the nude), so it was more like 2.8 if you count
clothes!)

I went into my profile and changed everything so that nothing will be shared with anyone. Most groups want your profile filled...... I guess I just won't be able to be part of my groups anymore then. I flagged them several times each. There are 3 of them, I believe. Go figure that the only one that has a follower on it is from Europe. No offense to any of our terrific members from over the sea.. but ya know what I mean.. I hope. I also changed my primary email to one without my name in it. I'm thinking of deleting most of them and going with nothing but anonymous ones now.

Hugs,

I checked out the blogs and flagged them, but I think that they should be
reported directly, too.

http://www.dailytechnologytips.com/2008/08/how-to-report-website-or-blog-to-google.htmlis
one place that explains how to do this.

I feel so betrayed because we all thought this was a private NOT PUBLIC
forum to share with like minded individuals.

What was the blogger thinking? Did she want to make money from google
adsense revenues without having to work on her own posts?

Mary all you need to do is go to your groups page where it names
all your groups on one page.  You can get there by just going to
this groups home page and at the top right hand side you will see
where it says (My Groups).  Click on that and it will take you to
all your groups.   Now you have to do the following for
each group I think.  To the right it should give you the option to share
or not to share.  I did this awhile back so trying to remember.  There
is a spot on the upper right that says yahoo updates with a little
blue question mark.   When you click on that there is a link to bring
you to your personal profile settings for sharing your info.
Click on that, then you will have a page that
asks if you want to share you info.  Pick no one on both boxes
then make sure you have taken the check mark out of the share
my updates then save.  That helps alot in third parties getting your
info or at least I was told that.  It seemed to help in that blog because
at least my email address was not included in the blog message.
I have not looked myself but I think it was Lyn who told me my email
was not showing up like some others.  Or at least I got the impression
the emails of others were showing up alongside their comments.

regarding sharing all yahoo groups info in public forums. Please do post it
here on the list.

That's what it means. On the top line of every BlogSpot blog is a button that says "Flag Blog". Click it, enter your e-mail address and legal name, and choose either "Copyright/Privacy Issues" or "Someone is posting my personal information." I chose the latter. It asks what type of information (address, credit card, etc). I chose "Other" and entered "The entire blog is a copy of digests of a private weight loss support group."

If we all flag the blogs they should go away. If they don't go away for posting private information, they should go away for copyright infringement. The blogger(s) don't own our posts... we do.

Thank you for pointing this out. This is not the first time this has happened. It was a year or so ago ?? probably a bit longer, and I went to the then-blog several times for days and hit the button on the top left that says flag blog. You are then given an option, and I click on copyright infringement. The blog was removed.

May I ask a big favor? Everyone who reads this, please hit these blogs and hit the flag button. It alerts Google, and they'll remove them because it's blatant copyright infringement. The more flags, the quicker they will get taken down.

To whomever is doing this, stop it and stop it now. Copyright infringement can be a violation of the Federal Criminal Code as well as a civil matter. It is NOT okay to do this.

Guys, I just don't know what to do about this. A quick Google search yielded two more blogs with our content. I'm not sharing links because one of them had paid advertisements on it, so if we all hit it, they make money. THAT is a federal crime.

It's very frustrating to me because I do watch for spammers, and I don't approve everyone who requests membership here, and yet wham, some idiots are posting our content.

Suggestions?

I think the bottom line is you shouldn't say anything on the internet that you don't want repeated. Ever. I don't know that there is such a thing as privacy anymore while online. Probably not a good idea to give your locations, last names, pets names, kids names, anything like that. Use a separate email account for family and friends than you do for groups.

I'm really at a loss. I just don't know what I personally can do about this. It makes me very, very sad. I can't outwit these people because I don't think like them to begin with--I don't know how to play their game, I'm just not that way.

I can't change the current members--too many, but I can come up with a questionnaire for potential new members with very specific questions. Then again, if these people are taking the time to blog, they're going to take the time to fill out a questionnaire. And one of the blogs seems to update automatically. My post was up immediately on a blog after I posted here --so they have some kind of software or something.

Tory, ideas?

Anyone?

I am beyond perplexed. I'm ticked off, saddened, frustrated...

Yes, to a small-time blog--or two.

And the way to get it to stop is to join me by visiting the blog, clicking FLAG up at the top, and bringing it to the attention of Google.

It takes a village--we are a great community, but we need to be strong and all work together to get this garbage to stop. Please flag the blogs.

Excellent!
There are times when you definitely want to rest COMPLETELY. But there are
other times that you don't want to completely rest because it can actually
slow healing or increase the chance of re-damaging the area. It used to be
that for any running/walking injury you would be prescribed RICE (Rest, Ice,
Compression, Elevation), now they say MICE (Movement, Ice, Compression, and
Elevation). That doesn't mean go all out. It means listen to your body, slow
down, keep gently moving the area stopping at the point of pain, and reduce
the amount of movement if necessary.

Gang, I'm researching and working behind the scenes on this issue. Let's get back to the topic of Weight Watchers for now and not clutter the list.

These blogs are small potatoes, and it's not likely they get a lot of traffic.

If you have something you must share on this topic, please email me privately:

Serious Weight WatchersI love soymilk, almond milk, and especially rice milk. I get them all flavored with vanilla. And I feel like I'm getting a milkshake. They taste so rich and creamy, that I won't ever go back to lactaid milk again. I do get some soymilk without the vanilla in it, though, for cooking with it. I make up a protein shake for lunch with Spiru-tein, which measures out to be 2 points, and 1 cup of vanilla flavored rice milk, which measures 1 cup = 3 points, so for 5 points, I have a heavy hitter in vitamins and protein that tastes delicious. Don't be put off by the color - it is green, and it tastes like liquid granola bars. It is thick and creamy and just so good. And if you wanted something to go with it, you could eat a wrap made up of mostly vegetables, but this shake is going to fill you up. I drink it slowly, to thoroughly enjoy it (while my husband sits there and gags at the site of me drinking something green LOL ). I mix
it in my blender to get the fullest shake I can out of it. You can use regular skim milk with it too, or if you need to gain weight, you can use regular milk. My husband falls into that category. He is naturally thin, and only eats because he has to. He never eats desserts, and wishes he didn't have to bother with eating at all. So I have to sneak in the calories where I can with him.
But anyway, try all the different milks, they all have their own tastes, but they are creamy and delicious.
Best wishes,
