My name is Julie. I have recently joined the group and had my surgery on 3/12. I am experiencing some things and would like to know if they are normal.

The first item is that when you wake up in the morning you have a taste of blood/acid in your mouth. Is this because I need to grab something to put in my stomach in the middle of the night so that it has something to work on? I have been sleeping about 3 hours; up for about 15 minutes (potty break, small walk); sleeping again for about 3 hours.

The second is how soon should I be trying to take all my vitamins, etc. I currently am able to get a vitamin, calcium, iron and b12 in but not the second vitamin and calcium.

The third is how soon should you be able to eat about 30 grams of protein. I have been able to consume that since about the fourth day after surgery. I am adding the protein to my water intake so that I am able to get both in for the day. Although I am only averaging about 32 oz of water for a day currently.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
