My open RNY is 12 years out (Jan 12, 1999), and still successful. I fluctuate a bit between 150 and 160, and my pants range from size 6 to 8. I have some junior size 5/6 items, like dresses, blazers & jackets that fit.

If I actually exercised (jog about 45 mins a day, a little weight work) (I did so for about 8 years, then I stopped, started again, stopped, have been in a 'stop' phase for about a year), I would weigh 140-145 easily.

I only 'diet' by cutting out carbs if I hit 160 and want to go down about 5-8 lbs. I can't eat sugar or heavy fats without stomach upset/dumping, so I don't. I drink maybe a glass of red wine a day after dinner or the occasional single serving of gin+tonic or single malt scotch (I'm a really cheap date!). No beer, no diet or regular soda, very little bread or white flour products.

GBS was the best decision of my life.

Vic,
I an just starting my second year.  i have lost 114 pounds and still have 50 pounds to lose.
I gained some during Christmas and have a hard time losing.  I am trying to delete sugar from my diet as well as bread.  I can't tolerate diary  or soy.  I am looking for a support group to go to.  I live in Tucson, AZ.  If you have any ideas that will help me I would be much appreciated. I too am glad I had the gastric sleeve  operation.
Natalie
