I had my RNY in 2010. I have lost over 260 lbs. I have been very strict about my diet etc. Yesterday was my birthday. We went out to eat I had asian chicken with rice and some soup and a dinner roll. About 10 minutes after we left the restaurant I go the worst feeling in my chest. It was almost like I needed to burp. The it turned to a burning that was terrible. I began to sweat (my undershirt was soaking wet). I could not get rid of it. I started to get sick (vomit) but nothing came out.
I need to know if anyone has experienced this or maybe was I having a heart attack??
I am 37 years old workout 3-4 times a week and no heart problems..
Please help!!!

Please, if you have any question about your heart health, talk to your docs.
If your heart is OK, what you were feeling may have been "mechanical" -- the result of eating in the wrong sequence or eating solids in a mix with liquids (soup always gave me problems until recently). I still can't tolerate rice, even after three years.
Are you sure there was no sugar in the "Asian chicken"? Chinese and especially Thai restaurants are notorious for hidden sugars.
How are you feeling right now?

Thanks for the response!

Thanks

It sounds like the dumping syndrome my husband gets sometimes if he eats
the wrong thing, eats too fast, or doesn't chew the food small enough. He
cannot eat any bread products, he says they just seem to ball up or swell
and he feels that feeling like you described. Sweating can be part of it
I've heard. So, maybe the roll you ate caused it. Hope this helps.
