I'm 13 years out and have seen this 'tolerance' evolve in me over the last 2-3 years. I used to get dumping from just a few sips, and sweet drinks were like poison. Now it takes 2 mixed drinks to get me tipsy, and don't get dumping from alcohol any more. It's scary because I'll get a brief 'buzz', then not much more than sleepy. I'm very much aware of it, don't drink very often, and I make sure my husband keeps booze in our house hidden (if he buys any), and he monitors my intake, else it would be easy for me to consume more.

Thank you for sharing your insights with us. I've found that beer puts weight on me like crazy. I used to do 'Dr. Atkins' with a distilled liquor drink or 2, and still lose weight. But beer, as much as I love it, is a major weight adder for me. My husband finds that true, too. He's never had a weight problem until he retired and started having 1 or 2 beers daily. His sedentary lifestyle and some brewskis have helped him gain 30 pounds in the last 3 years.

Sorry about the recent spam. Sometimes email accounts get hacked (mine was) because one of those 2 members posting spam have belonged here since 2009 without spam. I do check, and will remove the offender and spam post. Thanks for your indulgence on this.

Anyone taking Magnesium citrate? All I can find is Magnesium oxide, but am reading that the citrate form is very much better absorbed.
Thanks!

Are you experiencing a negative body image even after losing weight? If so you may be interested in participating in research I'm conducting on body image and meditation. The study involves filling out a web-based survey, twice and listening to meditation podcasts for three weeks.
If you are female and interested in participating or would like more information please visit the study weblink:
