1a. Post-surgical care?

My RNY was in January 1999. In 2009, I moved to Florida. I recently tried to see a bariatric surgeon here for follow-up. I called 2 offices and was told by both, 'We don't see people that long after surgery'. Which bugs me, of course. I'm not having issues that might require surgery, but I know my surgeon did a lot of revisions, they were 1/3 of his business, he said. Should I try a gastroenterologist instead?

Just wondered what people that far out from surgery do if their original surgeon is no longer available.

Thanks,
Vic

I have not had follow ups since final visit 1 yr post surgery. If you feel that you need to see someone, keep pushing.

My problem is water. Before surgery I was an avid water drinker, a gallon per day. Now drinking water is still uncomfortable, don't know why. I drink unsweetened iced tea all day long but cannot do the same with water. Any thoughts from anyone?
