I don't know, but also having recent suspect staples causing irritation/ infection... I am also 7 yrs out...

on Antibiotics, pain subsided.
I wonder if that year they used bad staples now showing up, MD considering getting them out if pain returns....

Staples used to close external openings are different (stainless steel) from those used internally (titanium). I've heard of trouble with staples closings externally. That is an issue with other types of surgery.


What symptoms led to you realize this was happening to you? I'll be 15 years post op this coming January, and haven't experienced anything that would lead me to think I had staple issues. I'd like to know what happened to you.


I assume you've been checked by a physician. What did they tell you?
