I never reached my "goal" weight (that according to the charts). I lost 150 (but not at goal) then regained about 35 pounds and I know it's my own fault -- I graze on water-soluble treats (like potato chips an pretzels) and never had a dumping episode so can eat sweets 'til the cows come home! So the trick for me is to follow the recommended after-surgery diet in the long run to lose the excess! (I had my surgery in 2006 and for the first 18 months lost the 150. Then slowly regained!)

Your story sounds very similar to mine. I was really lucky and happened to
stumble across a web site about Overeaters Anonymous. I had never heard of
such a thing. It peaked my interest. For me the surgery just wasn't quite
the entire answer. I found the missing piece of the puzzle in OA. I was
shocked when I realized I have an eating disorder. Totally explained the
struggle I have had with weight for my entire life. I had heard of anorexia,
bulimia but never compulsive over eating. They are all the same disease. Why
on earth not one medical expert, diet center, etc ever mentioned this to me
I will never understand. Such a huge weight has been lifted from my
shoulders. I am doing great now with my weight. I will never have to diet or
do any drastic crazy weight loss related thing ever again. I wish I would
have found this information out before I had WLS. I didn't need it. Just
needed help with my eating disorder. So frustrating. Now I have given myself
a life full of dealing with severe anemia. This has been no picnic. I am
glad you are able to control your food consumption Lynda. YOU ARE SO LUCKY!
For me it never worked long term. The food alwasy won eventually. I am
powerless to compulsive overeating. Makes such sense now. Why else did I
ever weight 300 pounds and have a surgery if this was something I could
control. I wish you luck Lynda.

Hugs,
Tina

Get more traffic with BHWHosting... (Cyber Monday Coupon)

Hey Zjfmcl,

It's Diamond Dave from Black Hat World :)

This email is for you if:

* You aren't seeing an SEO boost from your existing hosting.
* You aren't able to beat the big boys in the search rankings.

One of the fastest and easiest ways to gain legitimate backlinks
is to build links between your own sites.

The problem with doing this using traditional shared hosting is
you won't receive any SEO benefits from it because all of your
sites share THE SAME IP address.

The only way to get that ever elusive "link juice" is to have your
sites on different IPs with multiple C Class hosting.

If you have never looked for a multiple IP hosting provider
before, I can save you the trouble...

* The cost is usually crazy expensive
* Support is a joke
* Servers are about as unstatifying as a 2 bit whore

...but now you can gain access to multiple IP hosting through
BHW Hosting at a price that virtually any marketer can afford.

>>> http://www.BHWHosting.com

With BHW Hosting, you get all of the typical hosting bells and whistles
that traditional shared hosts provide along with the ability to get
IP packages as small as 25 to as large as 500 IPs.

And changing the IP of a current domain is as simple as picking the IP
from your designated pool of IPs and clicking a button.

Yeah... it's easier than your friend's ex-girlfriend!

It doesn't matter if you're just getting started with your
internet marketing business or you're a seasoned veteran...
BHW Hosting has a hosting package that will meet your needs at a
price that you can afford.

Multiple IP hostiong from BHWHosting.com is one of the easiest
and 100% LEGIT methods to boost your SEO and take control of your
own destiny.

Checkout our packages here:

>>> http://www.BHWHosting.com

Oh yeah... How about a few discounts?

The first 20 people to sign-up get 25% off by using the coupon
code: BHWHOSTNOW

These 20 spots will sell out quick, so we're also offering a 15%
off coupon to the next 100 people to sign-up using coupon code: BHW15

(So, if the first code doesn't work, you missed the 25% off, but
you can still get the 15% off using the coupon code above.)

You'll want to use the coupon codes on check-out in the box and
the discount will be applied right away.

Hurry up and lock-in your discount on multiple IP hosting, and
get more backlinks and better rankings, today!

>>> http://www.BHWHosting.com

Best,

-Diamond Dave

P.S. - If you're really serious about your business and want to
get 30% off on your hosting, simply pay for the entire year
upfront (you're going to use it anyway, right?) and use the
coupon code: BHWYEARLY

Good Morning,
I wanted to let everyone know about a great group I found online that holds live meetings. Bariatric Angels is an online community that has a live online meeting everyday to support those who are struggling with weight loss, or thinking about or have had any form of weight loss surgery, including lap band. Their meetings are posted on the website’s first page at www.bariatricangels.com they also have a store where you can buy their protein supplements. The product is called angelitebites and I have been using it for about 2 months and am seeing excellent progress in my weight loss. I am 6 years out from my surgery and thought that my weight loss days had ended, but I have now lost 25 pounds using the Angelitebites. Check it out; it is an amazing 12 step fellowship.
Blessings, Lauren

I have found some statistics on this and it seems there is alot of people
replacing their food addiction with alcohol. Studies are showing 30% of women
with the surgery falling prey to this. I started a group on facebook to share
stories and web sites and organizations to help those who are interested in
learning or talking about this issue. my fb address is
deannaboisclair@yahoo.com and the group is bariatris surgery and alcoholism.

Having experienced this personally I have to say I have seen this alot.  My
father had his gastric bypass 7 years after I had mine and dropped over 100
pounds in 6 months.  But at that point he started drinking more and more until
eventually he died of liver failure.  I think that there needs to be more
support groups for this sort of thing and I also believe that there needs to be
more education about this prior to the surgery.  Thanks Deanna, I think that
your group is a wonderful idea!

Hi everyone. Nice to meet you all. I asked a question and as I was reading
the responses today I realized I forgot to introduce myself. Thanks for the
responses and sorry for my rudeness. I have fibromyalgia and it can cause me
to be very forgetful at times. My name is Tina. I am 40 married. We have 2
little boys. They are ages 2 and 5. I had a RnY gastric bypass in 1999. I
weighted 300 pounds back then. I am 5' 8". I consider myself to be a partial
success. A work in progress. I thought it would be a good idea to join a
weight loss surgery group for support and also to just share what I am going
through with others. I am sort of isolated due to the fibromyalgia. So
thanks a head of time for listening. I appreciate it.

My opinion on weight loss surgeries over all is good. I do have a problem
with the lack of treating the patient as a whole human being. All this stuff
is just my opinion. Please don't be offended. I am just sharing my
experiences not what I think of anyone else's journey. I was told a lot of
misleading un truthful things pre-op. I don't think the surgeon was lying to
me. I think he was telling me what he knew to be true but he was wrong. Dumb
information like only needing to take a flintstone vitamin once a day after
surgery. Promised the most over weight I would ever be long term after
having surgery was 20 pounds. Just fallow the guide lines we give you and
your weight problems will be gone forever. Ummm I don't think so but wow
wouldn't that have been awesome. I think my long term out come could be so
much more successful. It is sort of sad. My surgery did not hold up long
term. I can eat very large amounts if I chose to or feel the compulsion to.
There is no restriction present. Because I didn't have a DS I absorb quite a
bit. I have never thrown up from over eating like so many others who have
had surgery do. Nope not me. I don't want to throw up but I just noticed
that seems odd. My friend that had the surgery at the same time as me was
barfing all of the time. My surgery was a total success for about 3 years.

People often talk about the surgery being a tool. I think this is true. I
also think that the tool I was given was missing a few parts. Like trying to
use a screw driver with a missing handle. Yes, I can use it but it never
really does the job quite right. I didn't have brain surgery. Whatever hick
up was present in my brain that caused me to over eat to the point of
becoming morbidly obese is still there. Surgery can't fix that. Maybe a
lobotomy (ha,Ha, j/k). The surgery did do it for awhile but when it stopped
working the weight came back on very quickly. For me the excess weight is
like the side effect caused by something else. If I don't cure the something
else some how, I can't heal. I am a compulsive eater. Why else would I be
this over weight. It isn't because I am weak and stupid. It isn't a matter
of lacking will power. It is a sickness/disease. Once my brain says,"I want
a sandwich" no matter what I try or tell myself I will eat that stupid
sandwich. I lose every time. Then I feel guilty and like a big failure and
the cycle continues. I have known this about myself but had no idea how to
fix it. I just recently joined Over Eaters Anonymous.

For the first time in a long time I feel like everything is clicking into
place. My mind is at peace. I feel so much more relaxed. The best part is
how hopeful I feel. I think once the real problem is dealt with I can
finally find success with working on the side effect which is being over
weight. The more of the steps I complete in the program the easier it gets
to stick with my meal plan. I am so happy. If you guys want to hear it I
would love to share this stuff with you all. I wish someone would have
enlightened me. I had no idea about this kind of thing. Maybe it wasn't the
right time, who knows. I am sure ready now.

Hugs,
Tina

Thanks for sharing your story. I, too, am a compulsive overeater.

A wise one on this list once gave us the gift of the following wisdom:

THEY FIX YOUR STOMACH, NOT YOUR HEAD.

I smile every time I remember that.

So the work goes on, one day at a time. One hour at a time, sometimes
one minute at a time.

I wish I would have had the opportunity to have talked with more DS patients
before deciding to have the regular RnY. Long term success rates are much
higher. My surgeon was dead set against DS and didn't do them. Most DSers
seem to have a harder time with not becoming to thin. I am really happy for
you Rhonda. Sounds like you have done very well, congrats.

Hugs,
Tina

Hi, I'm Siri, an almost 55 year old (birthday in a couple of weeks) who had
the DS 01-18-02 -- almost 9 years ago. I had my surgery when I was living
in High Point, NC. I moved back to Cleveland, Ohio about 5 years ago.

If you are curious about whether or not I kept the weight off -- yes, I
did. I weighed 276 pounds and went down to 123 pounds -- from a size 22-24
to a 6 of 8 petite. I stayed at about that weight for 5 years -- then, saw
pics from my daughter's wedding and realized I looked way too thin -- like
my husband and adult kids had been telling me. I put on 20 pounds -- wear a
size 10 now and stil feel great. As with any of our WLS surgeires we made a
life time commitment to ensure we don't gain the weight back or suffer
problems from the side effects it causes.

But, all in all, I am still absolutely thrilled I had it and wouldn't change
a thing.

I had surgery in 2000. I had a segmentation much like banding but not ajustable. Started at 301 lost down to 145. Now my normal weight is around 175 - 185. I feel good most the time at this weight. I am 5' 7.5" and were a 12 in pants. I would love to get back to the 150's but I don't dedicate the time for exercise.

I was 384 went down to 180 then back up to 235.  Just started back doing the
"right things" and am down 8 pounds in less than 10 days.  Its all about what
you do.  When you make the decision to be healthy and eat healthy then it
drops.  Your surgery gave you the tools buts it's up to you to use them
correctly, can't drill a hole with a hacksaw.  I am just as bad as everyone else
and I own that even after the surgery you can't expect to eat a can of pringles
or a chocolate cake and expect to lose.  If I sound preachy to anyone I will
apologize up front just dealing with the same issues myself lately and asking
myself why did I put myself through all of that if I were just going to go back
to the same horrible habits.  I started gaining when I started drinking soda
(diet) again.  Two weeks without now and I have tons more energy.  Good luck to
you, you know how to do this and you have the tools to do it.

Rhonda

The American Dietetic Association will pay for a one-time visit to a dietitian.

Download a certificate at the website below to consult with a registered dietitian IN YOUR AREA (list on website):

https://www.hersheys.com/moderationnation/connect.aspx

The dietitian will submit the certificate for payment.

Please pass this info along to anyone you think may be interested in meeting with a dietitian!

Not too ironic it's through the Hershey's website :P

Well it's been over a year for me and yes I still have gas. I take Tums sometimes, but mostly I try to just let it pass quietly.

My doctor never told me about the gas.

I hope you can find your happy gas place.

Richard (down 104 lbs)

I actually got to goal - below goal actually, my dad told me to stop.  However, over the past few years I have gained back 30 pounds and need to lose them again.  I have a closet full of the cutest colored jeans that I can n longer fit in.

I had my op in Aug 2008 and I have had a lot of gas ever since. Everyone I know that has had a bypass has this problem and unfortunately I don't know of a way to stop it.

I am a little over a yr out and I remember having gas as well. It helped for me to lay on my stomach with a pillow on my stomach. If you are drinking alot of milk products you might be lactose intolerant as well.

Congratulations, and welcome to the club. About your gas: is it
"southern" or "northern"?

I have "northern" gas, but if I eat exactly the way my surgical team
instructed me to (30-minute meals, protein first, then veggies,
limited carbs) I have little gas indeed. But I don't often eat that
way. So sometimes -- often -- I get awful northern gas, esp. if I eat
and then drink, or vice-versa. Keeping to that regime of no fluids 30
mintes before or after really works wonders -- when I remember to do
it.

I don't recall what it was like at the puree stage, though. I'm about
18 months out, holding at a 100-pound weight loss.

I had bypass surgery in Nov 2008 and had a huge problem with gas afterwards. I'd get gas from drinking water. It has gotten better but I still get gas when I eat. A good burp after food feels better. Sorry I cannot be more help.

I had my gastric bypass in August 2008 and I have lost 130 pounds but I am still 230 pounds and no matter what I try I can not lose any more weight. Has anyone else not reached their desired weight?

I started at 287, aiming for 145, went to 169, panicked at seeing the
totally new (and very wrinkled) person in the mirror, and then slowly
slid up to about 187, and have stayed there for about a year. I can't
say I've been rigorous, though. I don't eat any sugar products at
all, and little or no "regular" bread or flour products, but I've
learned that hard way that "sugar-free" doesn't mean "calorie-free."

Someone in this forum once wisely said, "They fix your stomach, not
your head." Even at 100 pounds off, and holding, my head is still the
same one as before. I still have to deal with my relationship with
food as an addiction. Maybe someday they'll be able to poke a wire
into our brains to fix that, too, but that day's not here yet. We
still have to do the footwork.

I suspect if I drank as much water as they told me to, I'd be closer to 145.

Heather,

I'm at exactly the same spot as you! I had gastric July, 2009. I'm at 230 as well! I admit I'm not exercising as faithfully as I should, but I am moving and eating less. I appreciate the 125lbs gone, but I still feel so overweight being 230lbs!!

It's almost over Diamond...

Please Note: You are receiving this email because you signed up to BlackHatWorld.com forum.

Hey Diamond,

A lot of products come and go. Many sit on the shelf
(or in your hard drive) gathering dust.

Then there are those that stand out. The ones we are all
searching for.

Well the search is over...

http://www.BlackHatWorld.com/go/theassassination

The buzz on this has been huge. (Unlike many other
products I think this one is well deserved.)

...But the 5 day launch has just been slashed.

Greg just told me they are closing doors within
approximately 24hrs.

Due to FusionHQ license and webinar space limitations
numbers must be restricted and there are just not
enough places to go around.

If you get this to this too late then I apologize. I
know it will hurt later when you find what you lost
out on.

Go now to see if your copy is still available...

http://www.BlackHatWorld.com/go/theassassination

take care,

Diamond Dave

PS - If you have not yet checked out The Assassination
then I highly recommend you do.

This is the real deal. A complete program complete
with all the training you need and a complete piece of
software that will allow you to setup and manage your
entire online business.

PPS - Many launches get dragged out. They run for days
and days with excuses to keep extending.

I can assure you this is not the case here.

On his last launch Greg had to close the doors after
just 10 hours due to over selling. And yes, the doors
were shut.

He is a man of his word so go see what he has to say
and secure your copy while you still can...

Hey everyone!
I had gastric bypass in September of 2001. It changed my life and my
perspective on health. I'm so glad I did it. Surprisingly I am enjoying
exercise, thats a big change from the old me. I recently became a Team
Beachbody coach and started working out to Slim in 6, then I did P90X. I'm on
day 86 of P90X and am loving it. Its toning me up and helping with the lose skin
issue. I also wanted to share with you guys this amazing shake. So many people
look for a protein shake to drink and most of them are just plain nasty. I
found this one through TEam Beachbody which is simply AMAZING and its more than
a protein shake, it also has 23 minerals and vitamins and so much more!! Its
called Shakeology and comes in 2 flavors. Chocolate and Greenberry. If you want
more info on these shakes or need an exercise program to help you with your
weightloss or help maintain your weight AFTER all your weightloss, I'm here to
help.

Check out my website, www.beachbodycoach.com/motivated2bfit
You can read more about the shake at www.myshakeology.com/motivated2bfit.

I hope you all have an amazing week!!!
Cyndee
