I had my RNY 9 years ago this coming Tuesday. I lost about 100lbs and over the years gained about 40 back and went back on metformin to keep from gaining any more as I have insulin resistance. I stopped gaining but didn't really lose anything. Someone turned me on to some natural products I could replace some of the things I was eating with and I have started losing again and stopped the metformin and my sleep apnea medications. If anyone is interested in what's I'm doing you can email me off list at dwmerritt@cox.net. I don't want to break any list rules.

I will say a few of the things I did over the years. I still do not drink any carbonated beverages, no artificial sweeteners ( they stimulate your brain to produce more insulin),and I especially don't eat more than my pouch can hold. I have tried to keep the integrity of the surgery and to this day I look a world better and feel a world better than I did before I had the surgery!

I hope that gives you some encouragement....Remember the surgery is just a tool!
