Thanks for the information. I am moving to Mo. to move in and take care
of my older sister. She has liven in rolla for 30 plus years. I am not
impressed at all with the local hospital. they have nothisng to offer someone
with complex medical problems (which I have). But it is better for me to
move there then for her to move here, so, off I go. I am having surgery
next week to remove a very large thyroid gland and to remove a nodule on my
lung. then it's off to Mo. If you ever remember the doctors name please
let me know.
Thanks
Praise God for the roses. Thank God for the thorns.
Judy

Hi Judy,
You might want to check out the doctor's name I gave you, DeLaTorre. He was the partner to the doc I had. The one I had is not practicing in Columbia anymore. He might have retired or passed away. He wasn't old but who knows? If you contact DeLaTorre's office at the University, they might be able to help with that info. After 5 yrs, I am unlikely to recall the docs name and since he's not on the website anymore, no way to find out. We didn't choose the doc, you got the one available, they were equal partners in the practice.
Good luck with your current surgery and your move to MO.
Sheila

Thanks Tiffany and Sheila,

I am going forward with the testing I need. I am going to have a second balloning/endoscopy on Friday that will G-d willing open the stricture and let me EAT something. Friday I had 2 tsp of vegetable puree and brought it back up. Saturday I had 2 tsp of veg puree for lunch which I kept down. I had 1 tsp of split pea soup which came right back up. I laid down for a bit and then brought up my LUNCH! 5 hours LATER! It had just been sitting there in my pouch for 5 hours. It never went down!

My husband is so angry. He wants to sue. I have always been a very anti-law suit person but I feel that this surgeon is actually negligent and that a less educated/motivated person than I could be in real trouble under his care. If a law suit could bring about change in the man and not just his malpractice rates I wouldn't hesitate.

Nora

You might want to sue in order to protect his future patients. He is a loose cannon and not a nice person at all. I had my surgery almost 5 yrs ago without one problem since. That's the norm!
Hope you feel better soon Nora.
Hugs,
Sheila
