I would recommend appealing it. That is what my surgeon said to do. When you file an appeal it costs the insurance company money, so often times they will approve it.
I just had a lower body lift on Tuesday and go back on Monday for breast reduction surgery. Insurance covered the panniculectomy and breast reduction, but I had to pay for the rest of the lower body lift.
It is NOT a fun procedure, so be sure that it's what you want before you do it.
