Hi Everyone,
At this point, my insurance company is decideing if they will pay for a roux-n-y for me. I have been dieting for six months. I lost 10 pounds. I have lost 120 pounds in the past and gained it back. As with most of you, I have lost and gained several people worth of weight. My BMI is 42. I am 58.
I so much want my health back. I take 8 presciptions.I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, depression, diabetes, arthritis, fibromyalgia, and sleep apnea.
Also, I know that people treat fat people differently than thin people.
I understand that many people become angry once they lose weight and fully realize that while they were fat, people had been judging them in ways that were not obvious to them. There are obvious ways, like staring laughing and not being taken seriously. I wondered what people here have experienced.
I would appreciate any advice that people who have had the surgery can give to me.

Hello again,
I have lost 100 pounds as of this week from gastric bypass surgery. People still look at me strange and I just smile and show all my teeth. In my head they are just impressed with my progress in 3 months.
I used to take 11 perscription meds for a variety of ailments. Now I take 3. Losing the weight has made a huge difference in my health, both physical and mental. The decision to have the surgery is the best thing I have done in years.

I have lost 60 lbs in 4 months I feel like I am doing something wrong when I hear of everyone losing so much more. I am assuming it is because I am unable to exercise on a regular basis'. I am starting to lose faith in myself. Any words of encouragment?
