I am 20 months out from RNY and have lost almost 100 pounds. I am
still loosing - about 1-3 pounds per month. I sometimes had pain
after I ate for the first 8 months. Often it was when I ate too
quickly or did not chew very thoroughly. There were a few foods that
bothered me even if I ate them slowly. A year later I still have to
eat slowly and chew well. Thankfully it has become natural for me to
eat this way. Some foods I just stay away from.
Perhaps if you take things slowly and listen to your body, you may
have less pain. I hope my solution is helpful for you.

I have just passed my 1 year anniversary date 9/11/09. I am proud to say I started at 230 and have lost 93 pounds. I am now 137 which is 7 pounds from my goal.
At my 1 year check-up my doctor stated that he was very impressed with my dedication in particular my 5-6 day a week 90 minute workout routine. I too have about 4 small meals a day and 2 snacks. I found that keeping track of what I was eating helped when I did experience cramps from certain foods and / or extreme gas. i.e. chicken when not chewed properly, some sauces especially dairy based caused my stomach cramps. I was lactose intolerant prior to WLS so dairy can especially cause me gas and too many carbs. When I do experience these discomforts Pepcid Complete has been the most effective. Abstinence from these foods is of course the ultimate solution but I know that I do suffer as most of us to my visual and mental addiction to food. My stomach's new adversion to these foods as greatly assisted me in more continual resisting my urges. Our new lifestyle is trial and error at first but in time as in Vic's case it becomes our new way of life.
