I believe it was introduced week 4 or 5 so that you get the program down first. Because you can use both Simply Filling and count points at the same time. If you notice the foods that have a green diamond next to them, they are Simply Filling Foods.

It's new. I don't go to meetings, I do it all online, so I'm not sure when it's introduced at meetings.

Is Simply Filling an older program or something that they introduce once you've been at it a few weeks?

2.1. Re: Weigh In
Posted by: "CLAUDIA" clewing1953@sbcglobal.net clewing1953@sbcglobal.net

My daughter also lost 2.4 pounds for a total of 16. She had a little
set back when she first got on WW when she was in a play where each
performance (over two weekends) and several of the final rehearsals
she had to eat so much during the play that she would use up half her
points (or more) each time. She trimmed as much as she could off of
what she was eating (Baked Lays in a regular potato chip bag; Bush's
Baked Beans rather than pork & beans, etc.) but she still had to eat
two corn dogs, M & M's, a Dilly Bar (did get the reduced fat ones) and
a large lollipop (actually had two of them, so she wouldn't have to
eat it every time—one for when she was beginning to eat it, and for a
later scene where it was half gone, one where she broke off half of
it).
So we were rejoicing with each other last night.
Then we had one of our favorite meals—one I hated to make because we
love it so much—breakfast for supper. But we found it actually fit
into our points nicely. I just scrambled my eggs rather than fry them
in bacon grease like I used to, and added a little reduced fat cheese.
I only ate two slices of the Center Cut bacon (less calories and fat
than regular bacon), and half of a sausage patty. Then she had
miscalculated the grits (with Land o Lakes Light butter), so only had
½ cup of them where, when I looked it up later, it could have been a
full cup, but that was OK. I fell asleep early and left points on the
table, which I try not to.
My daughter is moving out this week. Not too far away, but into a
place of her own—a very good thing. I am happy for her, and even
though I will miss her, am happy for the two rooms I will gain (her
room and the extra bedroom where she had her computer and stored lots
of her stuff). Going to set her room up as a guest room and the extra
bedroom will be turned into my office and sewing room. I'll move my
computer out of the kitchen, where it is handy, but often I can't
concentrate on studying. I still have my laptop if I really need to
stay close to cooking and still use the computer. Now I just have my
other son to get out of the house—he keeps telling me soon. That room
will be a guest room, too. Laura's room will only have the extra twin
bed (that has been in the other room) in it, and I hope to buy a
second twin bed for it. Then a double bed in my other son's room. That
way when my youngest son and his family comes for a visit, no one has
to sleep in sleeping bags or air mattresses.
I think having my main computer out of the kitchen will be a good
thing—less likely to want/get a snack.

I was worried after my wanting to much all day yesterday. I went over
my daily points (two days this week), but still had 20 weekly left.
I lost 2.4 pounds (after a gain last week, mostly due to fluid).
That's 24 pounds now in nine weeks.

Jennifer,
I know you are disappointed - and even upset with yourself. I understand!
You are NOT a failure - look how far you have come. LIFE does happen - and
sometimes we indulge in life - and that's okay! The main thing is you do
not allow your gain to snowball and keep going. Believe me, I have done
that, and it's no fun. Although you didn't stay for the meeting, you should
have!! You could have drawn strength from your group. But since you
didn't, we will surround you and encourage you to get back on your program
and keep going for your goals.
You know - it's okay to indulge every now and again - and from what I read
of your messages - you don't go out and indulge all the time. PLUS -
something you ate could be causing some fluid retention - it doesn't mean
everything you gained was fat! I never eat beef the day before I weigh in
because it always causes me to retain water. I eat only fish and chicken
the day before a weigh in!
Anyway - DON'T be upset with yourself for too long or you will sabotage
yourself. Forgive yourself - forget the past - you can't un-eat or un-drink
anything - so move on and next week your weigh in will be very different!

Jennifer,
I think you are lucky that the lbs showed up this week instead of dowline when you have a had a really good on plan week. I'm sorry you left the meeting it might have been good to get support from the other members. I know that you will get back on track and go on for your success. Don't beat your self up. This is the time to be really kind to yourself.

Hi Jennifer,
I know it is frustrating! I know you want to kick yourself... but ask
yourself? What else would I be doing right now If you weren't on WW?
Would it be a bigger weight gain?
Would you be trying to figure out a different, less healthy, weight
program? Exercise to the point of injury? Would you be feeling
completely hopeless and have given up?
Weight loss and side steps is living your life well. We have set our
own time limitation of when we get the weight off. Our body has a
different idea! The most important thing is we haven't quit trying.
And please send this back to me when I feel -not Happy with me- cause
it is going to happen. You haven't failed! You
have slowed down. Not a failure just a slower time to get to goal. We
should celebrate every day we decide to be good to ourselves.
Hugs!
Maggie M

Thank you for pointing this out. This is not the first time this has happened. It was a year or so ago ?? probably a bit longer, and I went to the then-blog several times for days and hit the button on the top left that says flag blog. You are then given an option, and I click on copyright infringement. The blog was removed.
May I ask a big favor? Everyone who reads this, please hit these blogs and hit the flag button. It alerts Google, and they'll remove them because it's blatant copyright infringement. The more flags, the quicker they will get taken down.

Guys, I just don't know what to do about this. A quick Google search yielded two more blogs with our content. I'm not sharing links because one of them had paid advertisements on it, so if we all hit it, they make money. THAT is a federal crime.
It's very frustrating to me because I do watch for spammers, and I don't approve everyone who requests membership here, and yet wham, some idiots are posting our content.
Suggestions?
I think the bottom line is you shouldn't say anything on the internet that you don't want repeated. Ever. I don't know that there is such a thing as privacy anymore while online. Probably not a good idea to give your locations, last names, pets names, kids names, anything like that. Use a separate email account for family and friends than you do for groups.
I'm really at a loss. I just don't know what I personally can do about this. It makes me very, very sad. I can't outwit these people because I don't think like them to begin with--I don't know how to play their game, I'm just not that way.
I can't change the current members--too many, but I can come up with a questionnaire for potential new members with very specific questions. Then again, if these people are taking the time to blog, they're going to take the time to fill out a questionnaire. And one of the blogs seems to update automatically. My post was up immediately on a blog after I posted here --so they have some kind of software or something.
Tory, ideas?
Anyone?
I am beyond perplexed. I'm ticked off, saddened, frustrated...

Not only that but I'm living proof. I've been working out daily (cardio
daily and weight training a couple of times a week and yoga, 3-4 times a
week) for the last 15 years without stop, and yet just in eating a few too
many calories, I managed to gain 60 lbs in 2005 - 2006! (I don't eat fast
food, junk food, at all - I don't eat high fat food and do not drink at all
either nor consume chemicals like nutrasweet or MSG and have not eaten fast
or junk food since 1995).
I am glad that in the new material, although Weight Watchers mentions that
frequent exercise is on the schedule of most people successful in keeping
off their weight, they have greatly DE-EMPHASIZED this idea that the only
reason to exercise is to lose weight - they list some 40 benefits (HEALTH)
of exercise.
Weight Watchers Momentum program is not a diet - it's a HOLISTIC healthy
lifestyle and there is NO SUCH THING as a healthy lifestyle that does not
include exercise.
Now if you are like the folks on the Biggest Loser and exercise 5-6 hours a
day, yes, it WILL definitely affect weight loss but the latest scientific
information states that UNLESS a person exercises more than 2 hours a day
(cardio) it may not affect your weight that much.
One issue with exercising JUST for weight loss is one tends to NOT cross
train and that gets to be a real problem as one ages because unused muscles
do go away. And the type of cardio which is a "good calorie dump" may not
be the healthiest type of exercise, also. Running is hard on the joints
even if the person only weighs 100 lbs. A 100 person puts 400 lbs of stress
on the hips and knees with EVERY running step.
Which is why any orthopedic surgeon will tell you that the most usual
customer for a new knee or hip joint is the runner in his/her 40's!
There is a lot that medicine doesn't tell us but you can access it on the
internet - medline etc. Also every Saturday, Discovery Health runs 2 CME
courses and those are geared to medical providers and quite candid about a
bunch of stuff that never hits the media.
We also have a son who is a medical provider and he's quite a good source of
information.
We not only SHOULD inform ourselves, we will be a lot healthier if we do.
gone are the days when we could blindly trust - pretty much anyone.
Don't get me wrong. I feel exercise is as close to the fountain of youth as
you are going to find. And if you do it for health rather than weight loss,
you will be consistant with it and you will also re-conform your w/o program
for various aging issues etc. I've been working out STEADILY for 15 years
now. fat or slimmer I knew my workout program was something I could not
afford to fudge on.
But I've seen so many folks drop off the exercise horizon when a half hour
or 40 minute w/o a few times a week didn't produce the weight loss they'd
expected.
In fact, I've discovered this time around that since I'm OP for HEALTH (to
keep my GERD away and hubby is OP for health also - WW keeps his sugar
levels at normal range - he's diabetic) and not uptight about weight loss or
what I weigh, I have NO REASON to not be OP (unless I want to wake up at
night with a throatful of stomach acid. so not fun!). If I cheat, my GERD
is right there so I don't cheat.
That's what I love about the Momentum program and if you are not going to
meetings, I would really recommend you consider attending meetings and
getting the new material. Our leader runs a WW office branch and has been
at goal or below for 10 years and even SHE agreed that the new material they
give you (the several books you get the first few weeks you attend
meetings?) is the best SHE'S seen.
But be there for health. The weight loss comes - the program works but if
you are OP for health, you enjoy the health benefits pretty soon in the game
and are comfortable where-ever your weight is.
I am a medical researcher.
Best,
SueW

My only child left for college a couple of weeks ago. It is very strange. He's only about 15 min away, but him not being HERE is weird. I told myself that when he left I would walk on my treadmill more. Wouldn't you know it a storm passed through a week after he moved to the dorms and zapped my treadmill!!! Oh well, hubby is good about getting me out to walk every night. I think it's going to be okay. Good luck to you and may you find something to occupy your time.

Serious Weight WatchersI love soymilk, almond milk, and especially rice milk. I get them all flavored with vanilla. And I feel like I'm getting a milkshake. They taste so rich and creamy, that I won't ever go back to lactaid milk again. I do get some soymilk without the vanilla in it, though, for cooking with it. I make up a protein shake for lunch with Spiru-tein, which measures out to be 2 points, and 1 cup of vanilla flavored rice milk, which measures 1 cup = 3 points, so for 5 points, I have a heavy hitter in vitamins and protein that tastes delicious. Don't be put off by the color - it is green, and it tastes like liquid granola bars. It is thick and creamy and just so good. And if you wanted something to go with it, you could eat a wrap made up of mostly vegetables, but this shake is going to fill you up. I drink it slowly, to thoroughly enjoy it (while my husband sits there and gags at the site of me drinking something green LOL ). I mix it in my blender to get the fullest shake I can out of it. You can use regular skim milk with it too, or if you need to gain weight, you can use regular milk. My husband falls into that category. He is naturally thin, and only eats because he has to. He never eats desserts, and wishes he didn't have to bother with eating at all. So I have to sneak in the calories where I can with him.
But anyway, try all the different milks, they all have their own tastes, but they are creamy and delicious.
Best wishes,
Annie L.
