you know, being the housewife that I am, when I read it that it "looks like a washer" I'm picturing a washer like in the washer/dryer set. lolololol

You get a metal disc thing that looks like a washer once you've lost 25, 50,
75, 100 etc. pounds.

I've lost a total of 50.8 lbs. in a year and a half. It's been slow and

The best part is that I don't have to take my cholesterol medication that
I've taken for the last (at least) 25 years! No more deep fried foods for

Thanks everyone for listening to me shout!

Went for my second weigh in last night...down 3.6 for a total of 4.8! 1.2 more pounds and I'll be at my 5% goal! :) I'm quite happy about this situation! :) Can't wait till I start fitting into stuff, but I know it'll probably be about 5 more pounds till that happens!

Being a vegetarian makes this easier. Meat, even the low fat choices, takes up many of the points in a meal. So I can have the tortilla chips as long as I count them.

I wanted to share my NSVs.

1. I am on multiple antibiotics & retraining water. I stayed on program even as I felt I was growing larger just by breathing in and out.

2. I weigh at home on a weight watcher's scale which weighed me funny with huge gains and losses in just a few moments. I didn't realize at first that it needed new batteries. I stayed OP.

3. I have been feeling poorly--very tired--and resisted the impulse to eat junk food for extra temporary energy or to sooth my emotions. I stayed OP.

4. My husband took me to dinner last nite in the midst of all this and, not only did I stay OP, but I ordered a la carte. Mexican food--chilli rellano with vegetables. I counted my points for each item including the tortilla chips. I ate slowly, drinking water in between bites, and took longer than my husband who had food on 3 plates!

Laura

weight
my last 3 weigh ins! 1.4, 1.4, and 1.8 (this past Tuesday)

Next, someone brought donut holes (and my favorite variety-powdered) in at
work and they were there for my last two shifts and I didn't touch any!

Third, last night we went to IHOP and I went armed with my points
calculator
(so I could track) and my Dining out Companion (so I could decide what to
order) Well as I was looking at things and then looking up items that
sounded good, I flipped to the back and found a section called IHOP for Me.
That part had a handful of items that had the NI! In fact I might have even
overestimated points because while it had the calories and fat, it didn't
list the fiber so I just went with the points I came up with without the
fiber which I figure meant I probably even ate less points than I thought
but hey better over than under, right?

But now! This is my cloud 9 moment! I am just on such a high right now (the
kind not drug induced LOL) I told my husband I think I am finally "getting"
this. That you *can* go out to eat but you just have to be sensible about
it
when you do. You have to come armed and prepared so that you can make the
best selections. So, to that end, I asked if I could *really* test myself
this evening and go to Golden Corral. For anyone not familiar with this
restaurant, it's a buffet style restaurant. Now, buffets, even on WW, are
my
*big* downfall. I start out with the best of intentions, but end up eating
just about everything there! It's horrible! Well, this time, I started with
a salad (0 points cuz I just used lettuce and some veggies and FF Italian
dressing). Then after I finished my salad, I went back up (sans plate) and
perused the items and decided on some I thought I might want then went back
to the table and compared what I thought I might like with the points
values
(had my Dining Out Companion with me) So settled on sirloin steak (6
points)
and mashed potatoes (3 points) I even was able to get a dessert cuz I had
been so good so settled on SF chocolate pudding (2 points) but hubby's
choice looked better and the only reason I didn't pick it was cuz even
though the book had Golden Corral this item must be new cuz it wasn't in
the
list (he had a mini coconut tart looked *so* good) and I *still* had points
left over so used them around 9pm (I have to eat about every 3 hours
because
I am diabetic and if I don't I start getting the shakes) for yogurt and a
piece of string cheese. I am so proud of me! It felt so good to go to a
buffet and not go overboard for once! I felt so good that I asked hubby if
we can do it again sometime and he said sure.

I was good on Mother's Day too this year! Normally on special occasions I
say to myself to heck with it it's a special day I'm not tracking. But this
time when we went out to dinner I did track and I also lost that week!

My hubby good naturedly teased me yesterday cuz that day we weren't sure
where we wanted to eat we just knew we wanted to go out so I told my hubby
I
was going to bring my book so I was prepared no matter where we went and he
said "Would you like to bring your WW scale too and take it back to the
cooks to make sure they are measuring the proper portion size?" lol

Weighed in tonight. Lost another 1.4 lbs for a total of 20.2 lbs lost! Not
as great a loss as the last 2 weeks but still a loss no less! As a reward?
We went for an hour walk!

Date: Fri May 22, 2009 10:59 am ((PDT))

My name is Angi and I have close to 100 lbs. to lose. I am in my 2nd
week of WW. I lost 4.4 lbs. the first week so I am off to a good
start. I love the Momentum program so far and I haven't been very
hungry on it. This is my 2nd time around. About 3 years ago I lost
40 lbs. on the Flex Points diet and broke my foot and was in a cast
and quit and got off track and gained that back plus some!

Thanks for allowing me to join your group. I look forward to meeting
everyone and learning from you and sharing in support. I will be on
vacation next week, so I won't be posting, but I normally post a good
bit.

Happy Memorial Day!

Angi

Welcome Angi!!

You are off to a great start.

Keep up the good work on vacation and we'll "see" you soon.

Michele

My name is Angi and I have close to 100 lbs. to lose. I am in my 2nd
week of WW. I lost 4.4 lbs. the first week so I am off to a good
start. I love the Momentum program so far and I haven't been very
hungry on it. This is my 2nd time around. About 3 years ago I lost
40 lbs. on the Flex Points diet and broke my foot and was in a cast
and quit and got off track and gained that back plus some!

9a. New here...

Just want to say hi! I just joined this group. My name is Lori and I am from Texas and 33 years old. I am married with 3 kiddos. They are 11, 7, and 6. I started WW on Sunday. I am doing this all at home. Can't afford the meetings right now but did go for awhile last year and loved the meetings but had to stop.

Since, Sunday I have not cheated once!!:) That is huge for me. Even when I was going to meetings I always sneaked something! But I am just in such a different state of mind this time around. I am not even thinking about how I can get my sweet fix. We even had McDonald's one night and I was completely happy with my Southwest Grilled Chicken Salad with no dressing AND I didn't even steal one fry off my kids' or husband's plate!:)

I am trying to exercise as much as I can. My wonderful husband bought me a treadmill for Mother's Day. I am now able to walk/run a mile. I am working on the Couch to 5k program. I am also doing Jullian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD each day.

I have at least 80 pounds to lose. So, I am in this for the long haul!:) I just am praying that I can get my will power going and not get bored with exercising.

Lori

11a. Re: Question about Goal Weight--some advice

Ø I really want to lose this belly fat.

What has helped me is spin class and a class called Body Flow. It's a
combination class of Tai Chi, Pilates and Yoga. Nothing has helped previous
to this as well.
