Lots from Vic and lots from Lee. I have to admit, when I found my own private communications for this "web group only" on there, I kinda saw red. I saw the same thing and fortunately I did not see any of my posts there,
but think that those that were effected should and could contact Google to
complain since a blogspot blog is the property of Google and see what they
can do about it. I find it a little strange that a blog just posts digests
of weight loss lists and not even having the permission of those that have
posted and feel relatively sure that this is a violation of Google's privacy
policy.

It is very annoying that ANYONE can get anything you put out on the internet. I just did a search of my yahoo username and can get anything I belong to. I could even go in and view any and every post from this group. You would have to set this group to private in order to keep lurkers from stealing info. Right now, it's gotta be public in order to read files, and that was easy to do. Thank goodness, I didnt see any of my postings on that blog thing but I am sure they are there as well as everyone elses... Is there anyway we can move this group to private???
it's a shame that someone has to come in here and steal our info and experiences to place on another site....

It seems to me that it looks more like a cross post from someone here
maybe, cutting and pasting what we say directly onto the other group without
permission from us. It does not look like a grab from Google because everything
we say here would be there, so someone just may be cutting and pasting with
no regard. If that is the case, then I say, please stop this now and take my
words off of the WL TIPS site. I did not agree to this. I do not want the
world seeing my words anywhere.

Hi Friends,
I've been using the internet for over 15 years. I've hosted chat rooms and also joined online support groups. Most of the information on the internet is accessible if you know how to search. The posts on this group are VERY helpful and I hope this problem does not people from posting their issues and solutions. I do NOT Know who copied some of the group's posts to another website however let's move on and talk about WLS. We're here to help each other! (In AA, the saying is "What you hear here, let it stay here". Yet, some are sicker then others and do repeat what they hear in AA meetings. I learned if I have something really personal to share, I do it via email. I can't focus on negativity and someone else's unwilligness to respect the group as I need to focus on the POSITIVE and learning how to live without overeating.
WLS is a blessing in my life and as my weight continues to decrease, the more I feel gratitude for WLS and this support group.

Search for "WLS plates" or "Plates for WLS Patients" they really keep food

Hi Lee, Elaine here. Thank you for doing so much work for all of us. In going to this website you have provided, I was going to file a complaint, however, as it is with computers, one page led me to another, and so on. I ended up at Terms of Service for the web page in question, at the bottom, looking for the web master's contact info. In reading the Terms of Service Info, I would like to direct all of our attentions to #7, #17 and #19c.

Elaine,
I read the Yahoo terms of service. There is no guarantee when you post something on the internet that it will remain private. I don't worry that my posts will be shared with others and hope that if it is, it will help others. I NEVER post super-personal information nor do I share my home address and/or phone number with those I don't know.
What I DO KNOW is I joined this group to get help from others who had WLS. There are many WLS websites and I find this group had helpful information to share. I will CONTINUE to post to this group and hope that members get beyond this and go on to share their strength, hope and experience.

Of the 4 people who I recognize from this group being posted on the pirate site, I wonder why it doesn't shock or surprise you that you are being used. Humm... as for me further posting, I will not, until the scoundrel is found out. As Lee stated so well: she didn't intend for her words to be flung all over the web. I too, feel that the basic question of permission is just basic, common courtesy. Of course, there are those who are basically common and never extend courtesy. Oh well. I find your implication insulting. You can continue to suspect everyone however I am NOT the person who shares other people's posts without permission. I do agree that it is rude to not ask before you pass on information. Just because I have been on the internet for many years and I'm computer literate does NOT mean I am rude enough to pass on other's comments or even imply that someone did.

In the meantime, I will continue to review the posts in this support group with the hope that others can get beyond this insult and realize we are all here to help each other.

I did not see any of my posts on the website. However keep in mind that I do belong to two WLS support groups. However the ONLY Information I pass on is info I find on the internet and NOT on a Yahoo support group website or info I get from our group dietician.
