Hi Everyone,

I really could use some tips on how to get back on track and lose 20 pounds. I was 230 after surgery down to 168. That was my lowest. Now Im back up to 185. I exercise 2 hrs a day 3-4 times a week. In great physical condition but wearing a very tight 12.

I can eat bascially anything I want. Im so frustrated.

Do you have any ideas on how I can diet or do you have a book for pts that gives tips on how to get back in control.

I've joined weight watchers and thus far just maintaining. Im very embarrassed but desperate.

Thank you very much!

Denise

Whew! I'm SO glad you wrote. Being honest with ourselves and others
is probably a big part of our success. I'm stuck at 186 (down from
287, six months post-op) and feeling much as you do. I'll be glad to
hear what others have to say on this: What to do when the magic
doesn't happen any more, and it's just hard work and self-discipline?

Hi Denise:

My favorite means of losing/maintaining weight is eating low carb, high fiber and getting some weight-bearing exercise 3-4 times a week, with some weight conditioning (weight lifting that does not build muscles).
