Congrats Jennifer! WOW a vacation you will never forget!

2.8 weight gain isn't bad! I gained 10 lbs once in a week on a vacation! LOL! You will lose it, a wonderful goal to work for! A wedding! Again congrats!

Melissa, glad that you are getting settled in. I wouldn't be surprised if those APs were right as many times as I have moved, lol.. but wise not to eat that many! Holy smokes! Good luck in your new home!

Hugs, Deb

Debi,

Yes - I faithfully take my vitamin supplements. I don't eat as many veggies
as I should, but I do pretty well.

I love my new doctor! She is really good - and I am really excited to work
with her!

Sounds like you found a caring doctor.
Just wondering if you take your daily vitamin and have your daily
vegies...that should help some with the deficiencies.

Subject: [Serious-Weight-Watchers] My Doctor Appointment Today

I went to a new doctor today because I am always tired and unmotivated. I
just never feel good. And my normal doctor never finds anything. Dr.
Elizabeth Vaughn is an integrative doctor so she looks for the real problems
and treats the real problem and not just band-aid the symptoms.

I really like Dr. Vaughn. She went over all my health symptoms, we
discussed everything, she examined me, took blood, and also did some mineral
tests. I am hypothyroid due to Vit. D and Vit. A deficiencies. I have
mineral deficiencies. My right hand is carpal tunnel. I have glucose
intolerance and iron deficiency. There are 2 other diagnoses, but I can't
read them. One deals with my heavy, gushing periods and the other deals
with the fact I don't have enough stomach acid. I have way too much yeast -
apparently have lots of it. I am waiting on blood tests to see how
deficient I am in Vit. D. And to see if I am pre-diabetic. The blood tests
will also check some hormone levels. Not sure what other tests she is
running, but I'll have a phone consultation on July 21 to go over everything
- and to report how the changes I'm making now are going. I go back for an
office visit on August 27.

I have an iodine patch test going on right now - and that looks like I will
be deficient in that too. Since it also seems as if my stomach acid is too
low, I have a test to take to see how deficient that is.

It was amazing - she was able to tell me exactly why I was having problems
with my weight and was able to exactly describe how I feel - and why. She
told me what my typical day was probably like and it was spot on. It was
just great to have someone actually know AND understand.

She gave me a progesterone prescription to take so my bleeding won't be so
heavy and gushing - and so I won't have 14 periods a year.

I have an elimination diet to do to help with my addictions and cravings. I
am going to make my grocery list for it tomorrow and get all I'll need and
then start on Saturday. There's no need to start tomorrow when I know I'm
short on some stuff.

I am to wear a "cock up" splint - (LOL sounds dirty) on my right wrist to
see if that helps the numbness.

She said I also need to have more serotonin - we will deal with that next
time. So hopefully I have enough to get me started on getting well!

I am so depressed. Now I have to be careful or I will put the 55 lbs back on that I lost.
Sears in Canada is doing lay offs and I got my severence package. Last day to work is Sept 17. I have to start pounding the pavement.

And let me add that while you may not have control over your job/
career, you do have control over your food and exercise.
I started WW when I was having a lot of issues I couldn't control in
my life and I enjoyed being in control of one thing.
I have been at my goal over a year and a half now.
Do not let your job loss be an excuse to gain back the weight you have
worked so hard to take off!
I have faith in you!
Michele
