Deb - No, I've been on the Monthly Pass. I think that is why I wasn't out
of the system! LOL.

I had "quit" WW back in April, but my Monthly Pass didn't expire until May
10. I let it expire, and when I was ready to go back, it was late May - so
even though I had been "gone" for about 6-7 weeks, I wasn't technically gone
to them. LOL.

And it's nice that WW is always glad that you are back!

Kelley

First Mini Goal: 219

Kelley, that's terrific! I bet that made ya smile. See, they don't give up
on you, lol... were you paying by the week before?

Way to go Deb!!

Kelley

Well, all that water and I guess it worked. Down the 1.9 gain from last week
and an additional .8 showing -2.7 this week. As I said, I am not counting
the 1.9 cause I gained that last week by being an energy, pop drinkin fool
instead of water for almost the entire week. I'm pleased! I don't mind makin
up ground as long as I do it and add a lil bit to boot....

Do you have an extra slider you can give them? I have lots of them lying
around from all the times I've rejoined!

Kelley

My mom and my sister now want to do WW because they have seen my success. My
sister is a single mom with 2 kids and doesnt have a lot of money. My mom
takes care of the kids when she is at work so is tired by the time my sister
comes to get them. So they really dont have time to attend meetings or the
money to pay. I know a lot of you say you do this on your own. How can they
do that without the slider? I really want to help them out.

Great idea! Get them one of those electronic ones at your meeting! Those
are great!

Kelley

maybe they can buy the electronic calculator since its a points finder and
do it that way....and not sure if you attend meetings, but you can help them

I've heard of a lot of people loosing weight on sparkpeople.com. The tools are similar to WW on-line from what I've heard. I personally need the accountability of weekly meetings, so I haven't tried it.

Only problem with the calculator is, you HAVE to have week 1 materials
to know how many points you get a day(or join online). Unless you give
them your week 1 materials, they'll have no way to know how many points
they get??

Welcome to the group Joan!! My advice would be to just jump right in!
Share your victories, your struggles, and offer advice when you can! And
follow your WW program the best you can, and before you know it, your
clothes will fit better. One thing you know is that you will have clothes
to fit as you lose. I would suggest that once the 16's are too big, you get
rid of them! Then when the 14's are too big - get rid of them! Never keep
clothes that are too big!

I know what you mean about your body hurting too. All that added weight
DOES make a big difference. I am 43 - will be 44 next month - and I can
tell a difference in the aches and pains my body has based on my weight -
which right now is one of the highest I've ever been.

I realize you are in a stressful life situation right now too. BUT - will
food solve your problems? NO! And you have to make choices when you eat
anyway, so make the right choices. It's all about choices - it's really as
simple as the choices we make. Of course it's harder to do, but with a
little pre-planning, you can do it!!

Again - welcome! Jump right in!!!

Kelley

Hi there.... I joined this group silently last week and have been reading
all your posts but not replying until now. And... WOW... I sure get lots of
emails from this group in my "inbox"... you are a very active group and have
inspired me. :-)
Ok... here's my deal. I have been very successful on weight watchers in the
past. I've lost 10 here.. 20 here... 40 here etc. etc. etc.
I am 5'3 and have gone up and down my entire life. When getting dressed in
the morning I just go through my closet from size 5 to 16... wherever I fit
that day, month or year... I've got the clothes. Up until now..
I maintained my weight for a few years at between 150-160. Well.. I am a
commodities broker and have been successfully self employeed for the past 10
years. Then the economic downturn. No business. So what did I do.. ate and
ate and ate. I am now a whopping 193 and have no more clothes that fit. I
look ridiculous. Also... I need to be looking for a job. I am now 48
attractive but fat competing against 20 year olds in the work force. Not a
pretty picture.
Additionally. ... My body just hurts. I have taken on several jobs just to
make ends meet until I can find a decent career job until my business comes
back. I am on my feet all the time and I am telling you... I feel so old
because of the weight. It's horrible.
Of course... all I want to do is hibernate. It's just terrible.
I know for so many reasons that I want to begin again. I know that being on
this site will help me. I love support groups and believe in them. I have
been your posts and you all seem so wonderful and so supportive. You've all
been where I am and it seems to be that you are all successful and heading
in the right direction.
Presently.. I am in the process of moving. We will do the actual move on the
14th. So... I am not sure that this is the perfect time to start this
lifestyle change. Perhaps I can just begin watching what I am doing and cut
out all the junk food.
Any suggestions or support that you can offer... I would greatly appreciate.
I am just overwhelmed by what I have done to myself.

Welcome Joan,  I hear what you are saying.  I am an emotional eater also.  The refrigerator and McDonalds beckon when I am going through stress.  The more stress, the more Starbucks & Sonic call me.

Congratulations on facing up to your situation.  That is the first step.  Your immediate problem is to find cheap clothes that fit & look nice.  I recommend going to the thrift or consignment store.  Hopefully, you can find some nice summer business suits/dresses that will fit the bill.  I buy jackets & coats at thrift stores for $2-10 that look great.  I would never pay multi hundred dollars for a nice jacket.  It may take you a little bit of time to find the right thing, but it's worth it.  If you are going regular retail, try Talbotts.  They have a women's department with really cute stuff.  Right now is a great time to shop.  They are really hurting for business.  Their sales now are fabulous.  Last week they had a online sale, buy one at full price, get one half price.  Landsend has had free shipping most of this year.  Just find the code.

good luck, amy

Bootcamp this morning, then I biked from bootcamp to work (about 7 miles
only). I'll bike as many more tonight and will probably run 2-3 miles
depending on the heat. If it's too hot, I'll probably bike instead some
more.

I walked on the beach for 1 hour and then later today 45 minutes on the beach.  Also hitting the stairs instead of the elevator. I can do this!!! I am worth it!!!
Pam :)

7. wii fit
Posted by: "arkianangel" ArkianAngel@cox.net arkianangel

Nancy here - I've been no-mail - and "off" program - etc - ok so it's a new
day.

I have questions about the wii fit - I know back around Christmas there was
a lot of talk about it - but we didn't have it -

We bought it a little over a month ago - I have read some reviews from
people on w/m website - but wanted "YOUR" opinion. The good and the bad.

I have a question I didn't see answered in the messages (I've read tons of
them)

Is there any way to have a workout w/o all the messages, scores, etc that
take up so much time? Tory - did you make a workout for it??? I thought I
remember something about it

I found some posts talking about the wii fit coach. I youtubed it - and I
didn't "see" the board - do you use the board with it? Do you use the
remotes? Is it interactive with the wii fit?

I'm kindof frustrated that it takes 1.5 hours to do an hour workout.

TIA

Nancy

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray
and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from
heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles
7:14)

So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will
reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up. (Galatians 6:9 NLT)

8a. Thursday Night Weigh in - Diane K

Weighed in last night. I am down 3.4 lbs for a total of 27.4 lbs! Only
2.6 lbs to go till I hit my 10%!
My friends and myself have lost almost 60 lbs between the three of us. One
of my friends hit her 10% last night.

And as usual, rewarded ourselves. This time with an hour aquasize class!

Now I am off to figure out a workout schedule that I can follow so I don't
get bored! LOL
